Fellas, I have picked up a nice 1995 RD 688S. I ran the build sheet and it shows factory option as a full mechanical 350 E7 with an Eaton  8LL. When looking over the truck I see the mechanical pump (p7100) and I am told it’s an 350. When running the valves I noticed it has an E7 454 valve cover. Now I’m sure it is easy to grab the wrong cover if you have a few of these trucks and put it on but what’s the chances of that. I’m thinking they might have replaced engine as sometime and swapped an 454 and just put the pump and turbo off the 350 on it.  Is there any way to verify if this is an actual 454?

I have to admit I wouldnt know how without getting part numbers off of the injectors, cam shaft, turbo, piston part numbers, injection pump info, ... Or... you could put it on a Dyno... How does it pull? I have driven many 350 8LL Rd's and they do really good.  I would expect to feel the power difference.
