Brake light switch

Recommended Posts

Our 07 CHN613 service brake lights only work intermittently. With anything around 80psi the brakes lights wont come on and sometimes with even full air pressure they will only work with a hard pedal press. We think it’s the brake light switch but with everything we’ve tried we cannot get them out. Admittedly we’re afraid of breaking the box theyre plugged into. We don’t want to damage anything else. Has anyone pulled them out? Are they really that hard to get out? We’ve pulled with some good strength but they won’t budge. Any help would be appreciated! Also if you think it could be anything other than the brake switch let us know. All the other lights work. Even the parking lights. We also messed with the switches at one point and the brakes lights COMPLETELY stopped working. And then messed with the switch again and it started working (kind of) again. So that’s why we’re pretty sure it’s the brake switch.

Have you checked the ground connection at the tail lights.

Those air switch sockets have a ring that needs to be pushed in, and held in, so you can remove the switch. You should be able to join the 2 wires for the brake lights to see if they stay on. Without removing the switch.  If they don't, I would look for a bad wire.. no air pressure is needed for jumping the wires..
