1995 e7 427 engine search

Jameco

Question

This is my first time asking a question in a forum so bear with me.

I have a 1995 ch613 gold dog with an e7 427, from the research I have done I'm assuming it is a vmac-1. It has 1.5mil on the clock and has developed a good water leak out of the rear head gasket, I've been around the truck for years before owning it and I know it has had "iron tight" in it at least once before.

So that leads me to beginning a search for a different engine, my question is can I swap my fuel system onto a newer e7 engine or do I have to stay in the pre '97 year range. I'm located in Oregon and am trying to find something on this side of the Rockies.

I do all my own wrenching I'm just new to macks and they aren't very common in my area. Any help is appreciated
