61 Mack
I have a 1961 C Model Mack. I am looking for repair parts for the Air-O-Matic steering, Specifically the air safety valve. Any leads on where to get one, or any other replacement possibilities.
theakerstwo
When you say safety valve i think your talking about the valve that goes in the supply line to the control valve.Years ago i saw them replaced with a simple manual on/off shut off valve. The control valve is the one which is hard to find. mechohaulic
that air-o-matic might have helped in the steering ; sure was a pain-in-the-ass to keep running 100%. tie rod cylinder wore out inside or gummed up, 6 bolts would loosen , cyl tipped ,would steer one way better then other,; spot weld corrected some. control valve welded on drag link screwed up alot. when it worked glad it was there; other then that!
