TJ'S Truck Posted February 1, 2020 Share Posted February 1, 2020 Hi I have a 56 BCR mack with a triplex trans and I'm not sure what engine I have as the numbers are ground off the rounded part in front of injection pump my motor has a turbo and two spin on oil filters and starter on left side, some think it might be a 237 as I know it came with a 673 and duplex trans as per Mack info I got , is there any other tell tail ways to ID this engine Thanks Ted.... Lmackattack Posted February 1, 2020 Share Posted February 1, 2020 lots of B models were upgraded to 237 or 285. if it has 2 spin on filters thats a good clue but could also have been converted. do you have a pic of the engine? any part numbers on the turbo or injection pump that you could use to cross reference? TJ'S Truck Posted February 2, 2020 Author Share Posted February 2, 2020 these numbers are stamped in to inj pump H8720H8959H4214 then under those are these H6666H3467, THEN A PLATE AMERICAN BOSH APE 6BB110Q6368C1 CUST PART 313GC4323P1, SER NO 113072 THEN ANOTHER PLATE WITH THESE GVB 250 1050C 5665 C1 these are all on the pump also another plate thats under the first set of numbers the H8720 AND H6666 numbers hope this helps Thanks Ted... 63BMack Posted October 14, 2021 Share Posted October 14, 2021 I was thinking maybe look at the timing on the injection pump tag I think a 285-300 is 22 degrees, 237 I was thinking it was 16 degrees.
