673 Piston rings

Hello folks,

 

I have a 1960 B61 with the 673 non turbo motor.  It is an early one that has a 5 ring set.   I have been told that it is fine to leave the bottom ring off in reassembly.   I had a ring break on #6 cylinder recently and can not find a set of rings for it.  The top 4 are ok and the whole engine has less than 1000 miles since a complete overhaul.  Any one know of any new rings or advice on re assembly with only top 4?   Thanks

The bottom ring is the oil control ring so you be in trouble if you leave it off.

I ordered rings from perfect seal out of Nevada for my end 673.

If I remember the top rings are keystone they are the same as later 675 rings. I used the top keystone rings from mack and the lower rings from perfect seal
