Installed Clutch brake, have a problem

A train

Question

I recently installed a 2 piece clutch brake on my 2011 cxu 613 with eaton fuller trans. I adjusted the clutch to a 1/2 gap from the throw bearing to the clutch brake. Now I have too much free play in the pedal. I noticed that now when I drive and shift gears my rpm's drop fast and instead of floating the gears I have to double clutch in order not to grind the gears. I have read that you should not adjust the linkage unless really necessary. I am just curious will this free play cause my rpm's to drop quickly when shifting? Is the clutch grabbing causing the rpms to drop so fast?

The clutch brake adjustment is important, but free travel on the pedal is more important. I don't know what the spec is on this truck, but you will have to adjust the linkage somewhere if you free travel isn't good.
