RDTrucking Posted July 16, 2016 Share Posted July 16, 2016 Looking to get a 1990 mack mixer. But 1070b trans is stuck in 3rd. Is it a simple fix or not. BillyT Posted July 19, 2016 Share Posted July 19, 2016 I agree with the broken shift fork(or bent) ,but these kinda problems normally manifest themselves in a truck that has had a lotta hard use! br549 Posted July 21, 2016 Share Posted July 21, 2016 It's rare but I have seen the main shaft twist and lock it in gear and the fork gets broken trying to get out of gear. If you pull the shift cap and the fork is broke make sure you take a long bar or screwdriver and make sure the slider gear will come out and slide on the main shaft Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
steeler Posted July 21, 2016 Share Posted July 21, 2016 ^ this. If the stick is physically stuck in gear, and not because it came up over the fork, then very well could be twisted mainshaft.
