Lived 18 miles west of Cortland, NY for many years until the 9 month long winters got the best of me.  Remember very well seeing Brockway trucks being test driven on the local roads after assembly.  Nearly every county and township ran Brockways for plow trucks for many years because they held up so well under the most adverse conditions.  There was a great deal of pride in the workforce and they turned out a quality  product.  There was also a great deal of resentment toward Mack Ttucks, Inc when they shut it down in the late 70"s.

Thanks for the post.  It brought back a lot of memories but also made me a little sad to know that a great example of quality American manufacturing is gone forever.
