M54A1 Posted March 27, 2016 Share Posted March 27, 2016 I just had the heads rebuilt for my 285, and in the process of cleaning up the block deck, I noticed a couple of my liners appear to sit lower than the others. I haven't had leakage or headgasket issues before, so should I just put it back together, and just in case, what would be involved to fix this right. j hancock Posted March 28, 2016 Share Posted March 28, 2016 Mack recommends that the liner height doesn't vary more than .001 under the same head. There are shims made to adjust the height.
