billy bob Posted September 28, 2014 Share Posted September 28, 2014 I was sold an 885 Chelsea PTO and told it would run at 110% of engine speed. It does not run in neutral and speed changes with gear shifts (higher gear, faster PTO). PTO will turn with front box in neutral and back box in gear. Is this normal or did I get the wrong PTO? MACKTRUCKS4 Posted October 4, 2014 Share Posted October 4, 2014 It's normal for that PTO but if you need it to run in neutral than you need a Mack PTO that bolts up to the back of the trans. The shaft runs through the bottom and into the front of the trans. Runs all the time except when you push the clutch in but only runs one speed. 1 Quote Live every day like it's your last, because one of these days, it will be.
