That is Lake Ontario in the background, one of the five Great Lakes. Part of Lake Erie is also in Buffalo. The Niagara River connects Lake Erie with Lake Ontario. You saw the Niagara River if you went to Niagra Falls when you came to Buffalo.It's not always sunshine and blue waters here.
