2004 Vision with 427. 560,000 miles. Been getting an intermittent 3-4 blink code the last several days, but today it came on and stayed on. Picked up a new engine position sensor today at the Mack shop. What tips and tricks do I need to know to install this sensor? I know there are shims involved. Any info would sure be appreciated. Thanks.

You may not need a new sensor, just need to adjust the old one. To check measurement or adjust:

Using a depth micrometer or vernier caliper, measure from the sensor mounting surface on the front timing gear cover to the face of the camshaft gear. Do not measure into one of the sensing holes in the gear face or an inaccurate measurement will result.
