b61fred Posted June 30, 2005 Share Posted June 30, 2005 I have a b-model front axle numbers FA517 which has front brakes and a FA5071 which does not have brakes. My question is, both axles have spoke wheels and I was wanting to install budd style wheels.Both axles are 9500 # axles. Do I have to get hubs off of a truck with the exact same axle? are the bearings the same? and are the spindles the same? I dont have to have front brakes because my truck didnt come with them, but I thought I might install them while I change things over. Freightrain Posted June 30, 2005 Share Posted June 30, 2005 I wanted to convert to Budds also..but after 6 months of phone calls and number crunching I found my spindles are some goofy odd pieces and no std budd hub will fit.
