New Fire Truck Purchase

Well, I tried and tried over the months to look for a Mack but either found something not to my liking, or what I did want, an older squirt or closed cab pumper was just too expensive. I had a backup truck from my days living out in California and that was a Crown Firecoach. And just recently got word from a friend that a telesquirt just came out of service in Carmel, Ca. 50' telequirt, auto trans, diesel, power steering, 1500 gpm pump, and from the exterior shots and the hose, nozzles, ladders are attached, and I also believe there may also be eqpt inside.

It was scheduled to be picked up by the hauling company yesterday in Benicia, Ca. where the auction was held and she should be on her way to Tampa to our fire truck club's storage facility on Monday or Tuesday.

Here are some pics from the truck at the auction. I will post some more once she gets to her new home !

Barry, got some pics from the delivery, and just last Weds when a friend of mine and I took his '72 Mack Cf, and my Crown Squirt out for a little drive and pump check.

The Mack and Crown drove and pumped great. The Crown got a nice flushing out, we checked all the valves, and then the ladder and squirt worked great !!!!

The Mack you see in the pics is Penna. rig former Mohnton, Pa., nice truck !!!!!

Let me know what you think. Frank

Thanks FDNYMACK, that Crown is a sweet rig to drive, nice shifting, pretty good pickup, brakes well. I just have to be careful in turning, it does want to heel over and put alot of weight onto one of the front wheels during a turn. So I just gotta take it easy.

Thanks to the Oldsmar Fla. fire dept. I went down to the fire dept. with another member of our fire truck club and met the onduty Lt. and crew and they let me put my Crown in the bay and on the apron for some pics. Had a great time. Here is a pic on the apron.
