jcoll55
Hi Does any one know of any place you can get B model rocker panels or lower door patches? I have search the internet and B model parts suppliers and have come up empty handed, this probably means there are unavalible but have to ask in case i'm missing them some where THANKS jcoll55
vanscottbuilders
I think you will find that it is easiest to simply fabricate your own repair panels. The only after market panels that seem to surface from time to time are usually ofquestionable quality, and poor consistency in their availability.A good sheetmetal mechanic can fab up exact pieces for you quickly and efficiently. The guys that have worked on old Mack cabs for me have always been impressed atthe quality and workability of the original steel used by Mack. That seems to make the jobeasier to get accomplished.Best of luck with your project.Paul Van Scott
Bollweevil
If someone wanted an unavailable small sized patch panel badly enough, to learn how to make it, there are a lot of different sources for an English Wheel. Prices vary according to size. Bench top, to free standing. In no time at all a person could learn enough to even amaze themselves. Not to mention witnessing first hand. the sudden formation of blood blisters, and teaching neighborhood children expletives they should never know in the first place. I am going to look at one the next time I go to Northern Tools. If, I can remember that long.
Freightrain
When I replaced the floor in my truck, I had the end channels bent for me, this didn't include the outer rocker panel as it was still in decent shape. Unfortunately all the pics got ousted when the old forum was finally shut down. Probably have them someplace at home?I did some measuring, made some simple sketches and had local metal shop make them for me. Worked out pretty well and since they are 16 ga, they will NEVER rust through again, ever. Quote Larry 1959 B61 Liv'n Large......................
