What a bummer. I thought this "leader" was supposed to make more jobs and fix everything while giving us free medical etc. etc.. Hopefully the morons (yes I said it) learned their lesson and vote based on common sense rather than what can I get for free outa this. Better stop myself before I have a flippin' meltdown while ranting and raving about the state of this country.

My son has one more year of high school and is interested in Diesel mechanic school. Does anyone here have a a son or daughter in one of these schools now? Ideas for schools would be very helpful. Thanks,Tim
MSU Northern in Havre MT has an awesome 4 year diesel tech program with a very high percentage job placement right out of school. I heard but dont know for a fact that caterpillar will hire 100% of the students with a B average or higher.

The old IH dump truck at the shop is an old road tractor with air ride, and it's terrifying to drive on the road with a load of gravel. You've got that constant feeling of "i'm turning overrrrrr...."
We have a 97 KW T800 converted to a straight truck and the first time I drove it it felt like a tippy waterbed on wheels. A little research and I found a kit called Timbren (I think its how you spell it) and it made all the difference in the world. I think it was $1700 installed if memory serves me correctly.

Must be why NASCAR kept changing the rules penalizing Chrysler; remember the 426 Hemi engine, winged cars, extended front air foils, restrictor plates, etc? All subject to rules altering to kill advantages gained through proper engineering and testing.
That all started against Chrysler engineering to level the playing field allowing the others to "keep up".
None of this is bias or fallicy. It is true.

Wasnt the Plymouth Superbird banned from Nascar? I have heard that rumor for years just dont know if its true.

What a neat little tractor, I just got a 1948 ferguson TO20 and ended up finding new parts for it on antiquetractorsrus.com Maggie will be able to help you if anyone can. Good luck.

Do you have any full pictures of the truck? I would like to see one.

LOL! How true, now that you've opened my eyes to this phenomenon it all makes sense why I "irrationally" spent all that money on women when I was younger. Probably still would still be irrationally spending my hard earned money except that since I got married I never have seen my check book again. Oh well.

Hey everyone,
new to the forum and vintage Mack trucks. I just bought a '59 B61 with the 673 diesel. I have been searching this forum and the internet in general but haven't come up with much good info on the engine. I don't have any paperwork or manuals with the truck. It runs but I would like to start out with changing all the fluids/tune up type maintenance. What weight oil is recomended for these engines? Capacity? What about oil type and capacity for the transmissions? Its a 5+2. I was also hoping to find some info on the injection system but have come up dry on that as well. I think the injection pump could use some adjusting, it seams like its very underfueled... No smoke at all and the truck is pretty gutless. Most of the videos I have seen, they do push some smoke. I think with a little more fueling it would be a little nicer to drive. I didn't just want to go start turning screws on the pump though. Also any recomendation on a place to purchase a repair manual?
Thanks for the help,
Jason
Also try the wiki pages on this site, they have a lot of really good info.

Heres a couple more.............Mark
I love that tow truck, it would look good in my yard.
-
the L cab looks lots roomier. Wish I had one.
-
I think its a truck worth saving, but personally i'd pass on it,the standard B-model cab is small enough, but the concave cab is even smaller! not at all suited for a fatass such as myself!...........Mark
LOL I have a similar problem with my B model Mark. I am 6' 3" and weigh 275 so its pretty hard to fold up a tall fat guy into that short little cab with no leg room. Did anyone notice that trunk in the front of that B67? Kinda looked like it was a factory accessory maybe since it seemed to fit perfectly under the passenger side dash. Was it an early over night truck for clothing or something?

Im sure its been posted on here but I thought id make sure we saw that part that he will part it out if he doesnt sell it..
I guess when he starts listing parts I will give him a call and buy some goodies for my truck.

I seen that earlier. Funny how people see a term and start using it without understanding.
OEM would fit, NOS, or NS1 does not.
Rob
I havent done much business online and I dont understand most of the lingo so what does NOS mean?
-
Good to see it running. I never really cared for cabovers until I saw the old mack cabovers like yours, somethin' about the narrowing of the the cab and the cool fender steps makes me think I need one.

Right on Rob! Bunch a snivelin' liberal hypocrites is what they are. I had an email sent to me once and it had a picture of a news paper segment where some PETA PITA quoted something to the effect of quit killing animals for sport and food and go to the store and buy it where its made. How can you argue with stupid like that?

Cool video. Anyone have any Mack Logging Truck videos? I think they would be cool to see as well.

LOL! aint that the damn truth! a few years back,my wife said "why dont you look into a new/newer pickup for yourself, you never buy anything!' so i looked at new chevys, nothing fancy mind you,but at almost 30K for a "stripper" i passed! guess i'll just keep my 70 C/10 which i paid $2850.00 a year old ($50.00 extra for chrome rear step bumper) does'nt owe me a dime,AND i can fix anything that goes wrong with it,without a degree in engineering!................................Mark
Hell yeah youre right on that. I drive a 79 Dodge by choice simply for the reasons you stated above. My wife thinks I should get a newer vehicle and I tell her I can buy a lot of gas and parts for that ole girl when compared to the payment and full coverage insurance costs that a newer vehicle would cost. Plus I use the hell out of my full size pickups and in my opinion these "compact pickups" do not get enough of a mpg increase for me to desire one. My brother has a 99 or 00 tacoma 4x4 with a 5sp and 4cyl and he averages 18 mpg, my wifes full size club cab chevy 3/4 averages 14.5 and can see 16-17 hwy. To me that's not a big enough difference for me to sacrifice the usefullness of a full size pickup.

The shifter knob on the 13 speeds has a pin that blocks the splitter while in low range, that's the difference.
So can the pin simply be removed to make an 18 spd out of it or is it more complicated than that?

Laughing our butts off until tears were runnin' down our cheeks when I showed the guys at work this pic. Good one.

Glad we dont have to put up with all that emissions bull $#&%.

Not hard to miss what ya' aint looking for! liberal news media only reports on what it thinks we need to know!........................................Mark
I know its off topic but whenever I read your posts Mark I hear them as Dale Gribble and it always makes my day.
