  1. This bullshit has to stop.Until we all stand up to these bastards, they'll continue to rule our lives as they see fit. Were they on your property without permission???File charges for tresspassing.Stand up to them, don't roll over and play dead.I've fought many, many battles over my old trucks, one in court where I stood to be fined ten of thousands of dollars and serve jail time.I'm still here,my trucks are still here, and my county's zoning administrator knows he will get his head blown off if he evers steps on my property. This is America, guys.Where would we be if George Washington gave in just cause it looked like he couldn't win.If everyone who is ever faced by this same situtation raised holy hell and fought back, maybe things wouldn't be the way there are now.

Sorry for some of my language but this is one topic that pisses me off to no end.

I agree to a point. That point is that the enforcement guy is a police office and he already has a gun. I'm not going to pull a gun on a cop. I am surprised that there has not been a bigger up roar. There were hundreds of vehicles tagged in my township and I have not heard anything about it. I guess if I don't say or do anything who will. They are right along the road, but it is private property. I am not willing to spend the money on a lawyer and the potential fine is $100 per vehicle per day. Maybe you could come out here and tell them how it should be. I appreciate the sentiment from everyone. I'm not going to pull a gun on anyone. I am not going to get tied up in a legal battle and I'm not going to pay fines. I guess I'll just roll over and do what I'm told. Mike

  2. My property is zoned industial, but my house is there too. I need variances to build the buildings where I wanted to so they put some stipulations on about what I can have outside. I do not have a business there. It did allow me to build a much bigger building. The trucks that were tagged are on my parents property next to mine and a vacant lot that my brother owns next to them. They are zoned residential. I don't have much chance of changing any of these things. At some point I will buy another property where I can have trucks without the harrassment, but I have to stop buying trucks so I can save up some money.

Tom- Thanks for the offer. We'll see if we can get rid of anything on here first.

  3. It is hard to believe that cannot do what I want on my own property. I am allowed to mow the grass and pay the taxes. These trucks can be seen from the road, but it is not like anyone is looking out their front window at them. They are not hurting anyone. They have been canvasing the township for the last 2 years. I knew it was coming. I have been told that if they are out sight they are ok. Unfortunately the property is on the side of a hill and there isn't much good flat area. I have room behind the pole barn for about 15 vehicles. There are already & back there and 12 vehicles were tagged. Maybe I'll put up a big fence.

  4. Sorry you have to break up your collection...

    Leslie,

The good trucks are all inside. We bought these for parts and to save them from the torch. I have room to hide several of them. If I can sell some I won't have to cut any up. Hopefully someone can use some parts and we'll hold on to the rest until the township comes after us again.

  5. I have several gas powered Mack parts trucks for sale. My father and I have collected them over the years to save them from the torch or as potential projects. The township has tagged them as nuisance vehicles and given us 30 days to get rid of them. We will hide some of them behind the pole barn on my property, but others will have to go. I would like to sell them whole, but will sell parts. Whole trucks will be priced better than scrap price. Make an offer if you are interested. I have more pictures and can take more. They are located outside of Pottstown, PA near the intersection of PA 100 and 422.

    Thanks for looking,

  6. I started a new album of the F Models that have been sitting in the weeds along Old 22 near Huntington, PA. They are rusting apart. The last 2 pictures are two former North Penn F700 day cabs which had V8s. The engines and transmissions were sold years ago. The trucks have been sitting and rusting for over a decade. They are headed to the scrapper. I might keep one of the cabs, just to hang on the wall. If anyone needs anything, let me know. It doesn't ever let me post pictures in the thread so I tried to post the link to the gallery below.

  7. There is a bulldog on the hood of my 1961 IH pickup brush truck. The other 3 trucks in the fire house at the time were Macks a 1947 LS, a 1949 E and a 1951 A. I guess they didn't want the poor little corn binder to feel left out. At least they didn't put an ear of corn on it. It is painted yellow though.

  8. The company I got my H613 from had and H60, 6 H61's and 3 H613's. They had several H67's also before going to F models and Brockways with the F model cab. They called the H60 the "Gut-less Bitch" because it had no power. They said it was really cold to drive in the winter. One of the brothers is on the forum. Maybe he will chime in.

I'm sure there are more than 8 Mack Jr's around. Dick Best has 2, Doug Mainey has one, Fred Chase has one, Cicio has one(I think that's who owns it. It is orange like his other trucks), Eiler Bros have one and this guy in Austrailia has one. That's 7 right there.

  9. You know everyone wants a Mack Jr. because it is the smallest Mack ever made. I have seen them priced in the $100,000 range. I don't know any selling prices. Of course the Mack Jr. is a Reo with Mack name plates. The ED is considered the smallest truck ever made by Mack. I don't know the number produced. There are still some around, but not that many. I am not surprised by the $17,000 price. I wouldn't pay it, but someone might.

  10. I live in PA, so what I say might not matter. I do not have a CDL. I drove a tandem axle IH transtar to Indiana this year bobtailing. I got pulled over by an Indiana state cop while looking at my toll ticket. He thought I was texting. He asked for my license and antique registration. I gave him my regular car drivers license. He had no comments about it. He did not like that I did not have a shoulder harness. Wanted to ticket me saying every vehicle in Indiana needed a shoulder harness seat belt. That is not the case for PA. I drove a tractor trailer to the ATHS national show in Syracuse. I did not get pulled over, but if I had I bet I would have gotten a ticket for not having a CDL and pulling a flat bed. If you plan on pulling a trailer regularly you are probably safest to have a CDL. If you are not pulling a trailer I would recommend not getting a CDL and licensing the truck as an antique. You still can drive it around for fun, but it will save you a lot of money. My father has a CDL and pulls trailer frequently with his trucks with antique and classic PA tags. He has never been pulled over, but it should not be a problem if he is because he is not using the truck commercially. I called the PA DOT twice to ask if I needed a CDL. The first person said no. I should not have called the second time because they said yes. Like I said you need to follow VA law not PA.

  11. I think I am all fire-trucked out for now. Friendship Hook and Ladder in Boyertown called me and wants me to buy their 1986 Pierce with a 475 hp Series 60 Detroit and Allison Automatic. They had wanted $25000 for it, but got no offers so they will take what they can get. It is the last thing I need. The addition on the pole barn is already full. Don't you need another truck? Where is the bell?

  12. Congrats. I showed the pictures to my father and he really wanted it, but my mother almost divorced him when he bought his last R L. It is an R L 712 L S T. He loves it. I hope he loves my mother more. If you had not bought it there would have been some big problems in Boyertown.

  13. U685 is the model number. T is a single axle tractor. ST is a tandem tractor. It started at 1001 serial number and should have continued sequentially no matter what letters were after that(S, T, SX, X...) I called Don Schumaker(Curator of the Mack Museum) who said that they did not make two truck of the same model with the same serial number. They each need their own identity. If one is a U686 or some other model they could have the same numbers afterward, but not just the T versus ST. He is looking thru the records of the U685T11692 and U685ST11692 just to make sure something funny did not happen, but it should not have. I have a B66 at home, B66T1194, but I do not have the serial number plate. It is on another truck which is titled as B66T1194, but on its frame rail it a B67T. The guy who rebuilt the truck used the doors and title off the B66. I'll let you know what Don has to say.
