I put a carter electric fuel pump on my 405A. It works great. What is your serial number. Mine is 405A1002. Mike

Send me your number and I will try to send you photos of my father’s truck.

I’m told the repair is to cut out the bad peice of steel and rebuild it like it was originally. I would think someone on here has done it. Maybe someone else will chime in. Nice truck.

There is a piece of steel imbedded in the fiberglass that provides support to bolt the hood to the hinge. Even in the best cared for trucks, the steel rusts and damages the fiberglass. If it gets bad enough the hood can fall off. That is likely what they were trying to fix with the metal bolted one.
let’s see some pictures of the whole trucks.

While I not expert, I know may people that consider the MH the best cab over ever built. I have one from a company that ran 8 or so of them. They loved them. Mine is an 85 with a 300 and a 5 speed. It has 1,973,000 miles on it and still runs great. I wish Ron Smith would chime in here. It was his family’s truck.
this truck looks great to me. The cab is not fiberglass it is some fancy composite. It might be hard to find cab parts. The grill is the hardest to come by. Otherwise, just regular Mack parts.- 3

I could use some MH grill parts if you have enough to go around. Thanks

My father says his B85 fire tractor with no ladder gets 4 mpg. It has a 707 gas job and a 5 speed. Mike

The model A looks tiny on the G model. If you need room I’ll take the G off your hands. Mike

Mack did make a B-20 ; smaller cab . also it doesn't have to follow a pattern being a B-model Mack. the A series or E series Mack aren't usually used, think out side the box and build different. E series dual wheel pick up having updated running gear (AC/ power steering ) with twin stacks.
The B20 cab is not smaller. It has a smaller engine and lighter suspension.

Are you finally done with this? It sure took long enough. Now what am I going to read before bed? What’s the next project? I could bring a G73 up. It doesn’t need nearly as much work. Luckily that Coca Cola LJ isn’t done yet. I can live vicariously through him. Mike

What is an H613? Single axle? Engine? Etc...
The H613 was an H61 with a turbocharged 673 diesel. No other H61’s were built with turbos. They were all H613T’s, single axle tractors. The sole survivor has bees repowered with a naturally aspirated 673 so it’s basically an H61 now. Mike

It would be nice if some of the more “exotic” factory builds had survived. Looking at that list, there’s a lot of low volume numbers showing specific builds for a customer.
One of the 3 H613’s built for Ralph G Smith of West Chester PA has survived.

Nice. Have fun with it. I also have a 22 AB. Mine runs but has the wrong waterpump and is missing some parts. I heard 2 AB parts trucks sold in Massachusetts yesterday. Mike

That’s awesome. Says it’s pending. Wish I had seen it sooner.

I sent you a message.

I saw your Facebook post. For the top step on the fender, mine has a piece of wood cut with Mack logo plate bolted to it. I know Gary Mahan had had some it the plates cast. Do you also need the back step? I have one of those. Mike.

What’s the serial number? Is there there a Smith number visible? Thanks

They are in New York. We now have it in PA in Chester county.
I’m in Berks County so not far away. There are always Dietz lanterns at Spring Melt in Allentown. That’s a half a year away.

Congratulations. Thanks awesome. What state is Franklin Square in? I would really like an AB or early B pumper, haven’t been lucky enough to find one yet.

How about Paul Romano. He had a bunch of bells. I don’t have contact info.

Welcome. I have a 405A. #1002. What is yours? I know of several others. Luckily mine does not need engine work. I doubt parts are east to come by. You might be able To find a running engine that has been pulled. I have seen several 405A’s for sale over the years even though there weren’t many made. Where are you from? Mike
