  1. I have a 95 CHR, vmac. Every now & then the big solenoid under the dash don't come alive with ign on, starter will work good but eng nogo. I can tell when its happened because the volt gauge stays dead. For what its worth I'd be second checking that the fuel system only has fuel in it, no air.

  2. Mine's an 03 also. You can solve/deal with the problem by (every now & then) swapping 1 of the left side batteries with 1 of the right side batteries (not both), or using a shop charger to bring R/H/S batts back up to spec. I've fitted a Redarc voltage equalizer to mine, no more flat batts. If ya don't keep R/H side in good nick the L/S cop an overcharge. The std Delco alternator doesn't charge at idle, Leece Neville have 1 that does, Mack had a service bulleton on it. Let me know if ya want part number.

  3. G'day mate, i would prefer a late 02 model onwards, they used a R series chassis and rockwell fr. axle etc. The earlier Qantums where more Renalt than Mack-hard to work on, hard to get parts for and more exspensive. i have an 03 mod, it's only real downfall is the eng fan cycles way to much-not enough opening at the front. Beware of wiring/electrical issues, been told many times that some were real 'lemons'.

  4. Gday everyone, i'm trying to decide which way to go. Got a '90 model Valueliner with a bugger'd E6. I'm gonna put an E7 in it but can't decide which will make for a better truck, 400hp mech. or 454hp elec. Also-9speed out, 13 or 18 speed in. I know elec is more time, work & money. Happy to hear any advice, thanks.
