They're selling the truck 😔, I'll have pictures and info later when I get pictures of it
Realize you are in the middle of this situation but a construction company really shouldn't sell a "bomb proof" construction tractor and keep a marginal one.
Hope it works out.

If it looks decent, I think the price is OK for a functioning Mack dump truck. Always try to get it for less!

If it is still as built, a 235/237 HP engine with that chassis should have DM-685 on the door VIN tag.

Do you think the depth of the new 8.25 rim will work on the rear axle? Do you think I will need a new spacer? I am a total newbie with the spokes. I guess I could just order the new rims and tires and see. If the worse thing I run into is needing new spacers, I will be in good shape.
You "should" be OK on the rear. Like you said get them and try mounting them up. Spacers can be had in different widths depending on application but you then may have to get different depth rim clamps (lugs or wedges) to make the combo tighten properly to the spoke hubs. Best not to open a can of worms quite yet.

Looks Good!

A Mack DM-685 is pretty much bullet proof if it has been maintained.

No such truck as a Mack R300. Is it an R model with a 300 engine?
Need more details. Info off door tag. Picture of truck.

Both the 11R and 12R22.5 are DOT approved for mounting on an 8.25 X 22.5 tubeless rim to replace the 20" tube type multi-piece rim.

Woodrow Wilson's name will be removed from Princeton.
Hmmm..... a proponent of the League of Nations, winner of the Nobel peace prize and Democratic President of the US has been determined by the Princeton Board of Trustees to be racist.
Better stock up on history books!
Let the white washing begin!
Oooops, sorry....

Could have been beneficial. Even with a meeting, doesn't mean the herd will all go the same direction.
Problem is that then and to some extent now, the medical community doesn't fully understand the problem. There was the push to use ventilators and now that has been determined not to be helpful as first thought. Some positive results have come with a steroid treatment. There is going to be a ton of testing and research for many months/years.
Even with a plan of lock down, distancing, etc. some areas have been hit very hard.
The common element seems to be the transmission by droplets hence mask usage, distancing and washing hands.
I have given up on watching the news because of the drama, hype, BS, so on. I try to read info from the CDC every couple of days to see what they might be saying.

That's a Mack M series off road truck. Powered by Mack, Cummins or Detroit Diesel engines depending on model.
Here is a link to some previous discussion.

Lessons for floating gears will be on day 2 or so.

You will be OK with the general torque specs listed in the tables. I would use the lbs for gr 5 fine or course depending on what you have for tpi.

24.5" will not work on 24" tube type hubs and are not a direct replacement.
24.5" Daytons tubeless are a direct replacement for a 22" hub.
Check around with other commercial tire dealers. They may have some better used rubber to keep you going.

A local dirt contractor had DR dump with Deutz and he must have run it for 25 years or so.
