  1. Paul what size Cummins in the Studebaker ? I have read several Studebaker Truck Brochures but never saw the Cummins as an option. Those Studies with Detroits bring good money,I cannot imagine what a factory installed Cummins would bring. Thanks for the information. I would like to see the engine room on that Stude. Joe D.

  2. For the U.S.Navy from the 1-71 up to the 16-278A they certainly helped the War effort. Most of the small boats and Landing Craft were powered by the 71 Series General Motors Diesel ,Diesel Subs, Sub Chasers,Destroyer Escorts,Tugs Patrol Craft were the main propulsion for a lot of these ships and auxiliary generators on aircraft Carriers. They certainly moved a lot of freight.Powered heavy equipment, generators and the list goes on. On a lighter note they kept the Kitty Litter and oil supply jobbers in business. Joe D.

  3. 41chevy I think you should run for President and have Dr. Ben Carson as your Vice-President. That would be a pair you could not beat with a full house. Sadly the masses listen to the Liberals and Socialists and cannot see that the free spending money has to come from somewhere the working man or woman. Joe D.

  4. Joemac nice firetruck. With the 2 cycle Detroits 53-71 series they recommend low ash straight weight oils 40 weight for warm weather is recommended. Delo 100 is good for 2 cycle Detroits if you can find it. There are a few other brands that work well also. I will try to find the brands. Detroits with the stamped valve covers are prone to leaking. If you can find a set of the cast aluminum they stay dry. Good Luck. Joe D.
