That's a damn shame! that would have made a great hobby/play-toy truck,hard enough to find a decent Cruiseliner,let alone a single axle...........................Mark

Are you shitting me? parting out? WTF? that is WAY too clean a truck to think about cutting apart, bumper and grille surround are worth their weight in gold alone!..............................................Mark

Sharp trucks! I like it when someone restores a truck and keeps somewhat of an original appearance, without goobering it up with too much chrome and bs!.................................................Mark

Lol! never thought of the quarters in the glad hands! only "dirty trick" I ever pulled once,i was trying to back into the ONLY available spot left in a truckstop one night (raining like pouring piss out of a boot) and sure enough, the Werner supertrucker next to me is in the bunk, fast asleep with his highbeams and fog-lights on! My solution was to paint all the bothersome lights with a can of rubberized undercoating, worked great! once the heat cured the stuff.it turned into Titanium and I was able to see to back in!
I also had some friendly folks take my un-done laundry out of the washing machine and throw it on the floor, my solution for that was to go back outside, fill a large drink cup with the nastiest fifth wheel grease I could find, and add it to their laundry as a special thank you!..............................Mark

Effing ridiculous! that is incredible,i don't see how anyone can justify that type charge! sound like some damn crooks to me! sorry that had had to happen, there are still a few towing companies in this world left that know what it's like to be a small business/owner operator and charge accordingly............................Mark

From what I was told by an ex-Brockway factory branch sales rep., they were an extra cost factory option (the grille guards) I have one I saved from a junkyard in South Jersey with "PN" on it (Port Norris Express- Port Norris,NJ) I always admired the craftsmanship on the grille guards, not many things like that made anymore........................................Mark

Very cool Paul! thanks for posting the pictures, that GMC-6 was pretty popular, the same guy that had the Nomad I told you about also had a 40' Studebaker coupe with a 6 in it,only saw it once and remember it had a set of Clifford Research headers on it and sounded great! I wish I had taken more pictures at Atco and Englishtown back then..........................Mark

Damn! a Safari? I got one similar,my Grandad had a 56' 150 Handyman wagon, cut it apart at the firewall and made an orchard truck out of it! That is indeed the AMT kit,an original issue, I've had seems like forever!...............................Mark

I've seen them cooking in a big aluminum pot with a propane tank hooked to it,thought it looked a little dangerous myself, just wondered if the payoff was worth the effort.........................Mark

Like to add my wishes to everyone for a safe and happy Thanksgiving! BTW,never had fried turkey (really) what am I missing?.........................................Mark

Awsome! I've always loved the Nomad as a Gasser/drag car still kick myself in the ass for not buying an ex-gasser that ran at Atco,NJ in the seventies, about the closest I came was a model I built of the car some years later. I could have bought the streetable chassis (less the engine/trans.) in 1982 for $1300.00!...............................Mark
