I'm with Freightrain, wouldn't mind having one IF it was the 6.6 400 Pontiac/4-speed. I had a buddy in high school had a nice one,but ended up wrapping around a tree on a rainy night, too much car for a teenager!.............................Mark

I guess Burt Reynolds has hit some hard times financially (go figure) but a read today that one of the original 1977 Trans Ams owned by him, given to him after the movie, went for $480,000 at auction this past weekend! Hard to believe that movie is 35 years old already! 480K is WAY more then the Bandit,Snowman, and Buford T. Justice had wrapped up in car,KW,truck-trailer AND load of Coors in 77' I couldn't get the linky thing to work, but I'm sure somebody can post the article on Yahoo news?......................................................Mark

That's a good one Mike! kinda like one my Grandad used to tell me.......................3 old time truckdrivers are sitting in a bar, discussing who drives and who makes the best truck,so they decide to go outside for a side by side comparison. First guy takes out a bottle of champagne, breaks it over the hood of a new Pete, " I christen thee George Washington, cause you're the first new truck I've driven"!! Second guy does likewise.on a new KW " I christen thee Abraham Lincoln, cause the KW salesman was the first honest guy I ever dealt with"!!!!!! 3rd guy cracks open a can of beer, dumps it on the hood of an R-Model " I christen thee Teddy Roosevelt, cause you are one rough ridin' son of a bitch"!!!.........................................Mark

My cousin sent me these pictures of a B-Model sleeper for sale near him,it's on the southwest Virginia Craigslist (he has no affiliation with the seller) just didn't know how to send the linky thing. Asking price is $7500.00 if anyone here is interested,i would be glad to go look at it,take more pictures etc. If I had the cabbage, prolly buy it myself!...............................Mark

Jim,i think they are using these to bring loaded log trailers out of the woods (rough, hilly country) and dropping them up on a cleared area so the "road" trucks can take them where they go? The R-Model I saw was pulling a loaded log trailer out of here when we passed..................Mark

Home today running some errands, came across these two beasts! They are clearing some land down near my Mom's place, and they were parked next to the road,so I thought I'd check them out. Both 300 powered, the one closest to the road was a 2-stick 6 speed, the other one was an air-shift 6 speed other then that they appeared identical. I imagine they started life as mixers, but still pretty un-usual to see a DMM tractor. Pretty nice R-Model was pulling out as we went past, but too quick to get a picture.......................................Mark
