I suppose given the amount of rolling stock Swift owns, that's prolly not a bad FMCSA score, but I bet the Safety director there is a 24/7 365 job!...................................Mark

I've often wondered what Swifts actual attrition rate is,as far as accidents? I know they have a huge boneyard in Arizona I've been past there a time or two and there are several THOUSAND wrecked trucks and trailers inside!............................................Mark

I agree with Gearhead, quick connects are against the law on tractor/trailer lines for highway use! I use un-coiled rubber lines from Tectran.com they have anything you need in the way of airlines, not cheap, but very well made quality product.............................Mark

Jim,neat that all those memories are still there after all these years! we may have crossed paths "back in the day" I spent many a day with my Dad at both Port Newark and Port Elizabeth when I was a boy, along with the always exciting Hunts Point and Bronx Terminal markets! As I remember though, the only bananas he hauled either came from Tioga Pier (84) in Philly,Camden or the Port of Wilmington...............................Mark

I found this picture a couple days ago,and thought it was worth sharing. I've never seen this particular add-on sleeper before, anyone have any details on it? Must have been mighty cramped in there! I remember seeing a Crackerbox GMC with something similar when I was a kid.........................................Mark

Just my .02,but that truck looks too far gone to me to restore, unless it had some sentimental/family history probably not worth doing. And like most restorations, you could put upwards of $50K in it,and still end up with something worth $5.............just sayin' Mark

Evidently we can't read or judge distance/clearance either?
