  1. Scott's Northwood diesel has a pretty clean 89 day cab. Located in northern wi. Minaqua. 350.e 6..fuller 13. 4.17 Mack rears on neway. He's on the web.
  2. Cross the king pin kit part numbers. That should shed some light on things if the axle beam is the same but just have different spring rates.
  3. looking for some input on the specs. on a mech. bosch inj. pump on my e-7. what size barrels are they fuel flow rate etc. ive looked on the ol' web for too long and didn't learn a thing yet. what im up to, is looking to learn how this thing works for sure before i attempt to get a bit more power out of it. pump is a new manders rebuilt that i put on this 95 e-7 motor that had a v-mac 1 setup on it. runs great have 97000 miles on it since i did it. manders stage 2 injectors(whatever that rates for) a 460 turbo. seems to me its running out of fuel / not getting enough to start with? never runs high egt, and puts out 30-35 psi of boost here lately. this winter it was 38-40 all the time. dont really want to just start dinkin around in there without some heads up. any ideas? Plus, like anyone else, id like to get as much power as i can safely get. id like 450-475ish if i could. not running out west anymore pulling mountains or high heat. i didnt want to turn it up much before because of that, but now i believe its a bit safer to do it now.
  4. We have a 06 rawhide working with us that acts the very same way. Now I know its an e-7 but, it has that vvg type holeset turbo on it. Dang thing shuts off at random times, starts right back up, sometimes boost is good(37-40) other times 10 or so. its enough to make me pull out my hair and its not even mine. Glad its not. Fact that an mp8 and an e-7 acts the same stupid way is odd, but look at the common link between the two. Turbo type. maybe not the same part for part but same thought never the less. We've thought about changing out manifold and turbo with one off a 03 460 but i guess Im not sure if it would ever run again. One of us out here needs to get to the bottom of this. Dealers dont want to deal with it.
  5. Hey, Thanks for the reply. I was gone and for some reason my phone will not get me on here to check things out. I have a 97 ch that will donate the parts. Its a complete running truck, just has rusted so bad all over and under that its just a yard rat at the moment. I ran this truck for years and its strong. hate to see it wasted.
  6. I'm feeling the urge to put an e-7 in my 79 cruiseliner. Unlike my e-7 swap into the MH i did early this year, id like to keep the v-mac set up on this time. Anyone do this ? and I wonder where I could find the info on what makes this system tic. I'm sure it can be dumbed waaay down and still work as it should. How 'bout it guys?
  7. I don't know any prices, or what shipping would be, but Roy's enterprises in Hayward Wi. has many 4.17 gear sets in his salvage yard. google the name and you'll find his number. very easy guy to deal with. never had a bad deal from them yet. and just to be clear on this, I am talking about Mack drop ins.hope this helps.
  8. Was talking to a guy today about different trucks and stuff and the topic of transmissions came up. He told me that when the first 550 cats, not a clue about time frame here, 80s, 90s,....70s??? that eaton fuller didn't make a trans. rated for the torque of that motor yet. He was told that a limited number of trucks, Pete, Kenworth came out with Mack 18 speeds in them. I've never heard tales of this, and I don't want to be the only one out here with this buggin me. Guy's a pretty straight up person so I really don't think he's pullin' my chain. Bad info to him?? Beats me. Just had some time, thought I'd throw it out there.
  9. Thanks for your time and info. Monday morning I will get back on the phone and see what kind of results I get. Round two here I come!
  10. Oh yeah, The turbo does not have the tag on it for me to get any info off it. Runnin blind here I guess.
  11. This is what I know. It's a 93, e-7/400 from factory with the electric setup. It was inframed at our local mack dealer in 06, guy said he put about 2500 miles on it or so before he had some serious health issues. Got parked since. was started every so often over the years until the throttle pedal was stolen. then we bought it. when it was rebuilt it was whatever level or whatever they call it with new heads, rods, pistons, liners, cam inspected and so on. I do not know what pistons for SURE are in it. They ARE round if that helps.Turbo looks fairly new also. I have the build sheet for trk. and its always been 400 hp. I would have to assume that mack rebuilt it back to stock specs. And I know the guy didn't have any thing cranked up on it, as in big injectors, turbo, etc... Don't know if any of this helps, but thats about all I know. Manders said they have what I need to do all this but they need some numbers to go by and thats my hang up right now.
  12. For whatever reason, I've run into a bit of a road block on my e-7 v-mac 1 elect. to mech. pump swap. Anyone I've been talking to...dealer,pump shops,...etc. Seems I need numbers off of a truck with an e-7 Robert Bosch full mechanical pump from factory. Vin #from trk itself and the 040# from pump, and whatever other numbers are on the pump tag. this make any sense? anyone know more about this? any help will be greatly appreciated.
  13. how's it goin' guys? I have a quick question about the removal of my v-mack one pump and econovance setup. I'm converting this to a mech. pump. I have the pump off, the spacer thing and coupler gear. cant get the rest off yet, and dont feel like wrecking anything. I have no book on this yet, thought-how hard can this be to take apart. what has to come off from behind the 5 bolt round cover up front? AND what should i do timing wise? I have it on t.d.c #1 now. I found what I think is a mark on a tooth on the gear bolted to econo unit. should this meet up with some marks on the other gear that drives it? I've stopped doing anything anymore tonite until I learn something here or find out more tomorrow from dealer. prob. real easy but I DONT know, so I want to know BEFORE I do something more stupid than tear down without some ref. book or such. thanks for anything ya' got for me.
  14. Hey guys! I'm havin' some issues with what gear to go with on my ongoing project 89 mh. lets start with what i have and think i know. 89' e-6 350,4valve hooked to a .71o.d. 2090. i have 4.42 gears with 24.5 tall rubber. new tires seem to be 44'' tall.rolls dn road really good. likes the 65-68mph range in over gear. come to any hill, long drawn out ones are the worst, and it falls off boost but still is too fast to grab direct. overall gear too high i know. what i have to work with and what seems good on paper is a set of 3.65 rears and a 1989 1070b 12 spd. Never had a working tach in this truck yet. And no i'm not going to put a eaton 13 in here. the eatons i have are .78 anyhow so im going to keep it all mack. the 3.65 gears are in my 79 cruiseliner. light truck it seems so i will assume they are 34000 lbs. all i can find for numbers are..11kha5327 p17, up high on carrier. 93 9j2233 towards bottom. truck had 300plus with an eaton direct ten on neway air, not like that matters. i run this truck over the road and would love some input from you guys on what you would do in my situation. I pull 75-80000 most of the time withe some oversize weirdness mixed in every so often. also, i really like how it is now, just wish i could split gears. i think that would put a really big smile on my face. hope you guys can learn me something on this topic. thanks for anything you give me.
  15. I have a eaton fuller direct drive 10 speed trans out of a 1979 cruiseliner. works good. has 288,000 orig. miles on it. make an offer. 715-905-0079, Bill.
  16. I'm starting to think I'm nuts but anyone ever heard of or remember about a bike that was set up with a smaller ashtray size mack bulldog on it? I coulda swore I seen an add in a old truckin mag when I was a kid.about mid 70's ish. Mack promo? limited edition?? or did I dream all this shit up when I was a kid???
  17. A guy i met last year did this to his superliner. He told me that he took off the pump, econovance, and the inj. lines. left the same injectors in . put on the mann. pump with the mann. inj. lines and that was about it 4 the tricky stuff. told me the inj. lines had to be changed because the v-mac setup withe econo vance has all shorter inj.lines. thats what i believe 2 b true. i dont think this guy was feeding b.s. seemed like a good ol mack guy to me.
  18. just got back 2 check the info u guys came back with. thanks for all the answers. makes sense that a 4.42 ratio is 4.42 ratio no matter what brand rears. just double checkin. did the math on our t-600 k-dub and when we got it all put together it came out spot on. then feelin all good abut things i did the math on the mack and came up with an idea of what to do with him, then i was told that macks were calculated different. didn't think so but started to second guess things. so before i went and bought parts i had better know 4 sure. the boss is pretty good at lettin me do my thing but too big of a f-up would put him over the edge. my thoughts on this trk...has a 350 4 valve am-bosch pump, 2090 old shift patt. trans with what i believe 2b a .71 o.d. , 4.42 gears and i plan on jumpin up to 24.5 talls(11.00) should put me around the 1600 r.p.m range at 65. low hole is gonna b fine i think for loaded starts. ran this trk for years hauling pulp wood with the 98000 permit translated to 100000 plut more than a few times and this trk did great. just a bit and i mean just a bit slow on the big roads. now its going to run o.t.r 80g's gross. if i could get my pics on here i would love to show 2 u guys. some day i might get smart enough to do that. again thanks 4 the input.
  19. howdy! just a quick question. I was doin the math on some gear ratios vs. speed and r.p.m,s. will the math be the same between eaton-spicer type rears and mack rears. Mine are 38000 or 40000 lb. example---- my 4.42 gears figure same as lets just say 4.42 eatons? someone told me they did the math different with the macks. thanks for any info u guys have.
  20. hi there im new to the site. i have a 89 e6 4valve in a mh 613. when the truck went into service for us it pulled quite well, almost to the point that i may have wanted to believe that it may have been turned up to 400 hp. had black smoke after a shift but then cleaned up like a normal motor should i guess. had really good boost 26-30, so it says. mid 4s for mileage. then one day it started pulling like it had a problem. about 15 psi of boost. egt gets to 900 max on a hard pull at 98000, 15 psi boost and now the thing gets at least mid 5s to low 6s for fuel mileage. no power. could somthing have slipped in the pump to do this? dont know much about these pumps. its an ambac pump by the way. any help on this would be great. thanks.
