  1. started loosing coolant. found a wet spoot underneith berth found a loose clamp tightend it and thought problem was solved. could not figure out why the over flow tank was allways full and the main tank would be low. coolant use kept increasing got it to fort wayne mack store this morning got it checked out thats when i learned about egr cooler. just passed 300,000 miles so no help from warrenty. is there any other items that are the price of a new car i should be ready to change. it just had a new camshaft installed.

  2. I know Manac's have that same set up with the plate that can be added anywhere, they have a storage place under the trailer that are held by a pin. I think there is a total of like 20 of them things, looks pretty good that they can be stored instead of left on the trailer. I know when I was working at Riechmann, Dave you may know of them, they had a few Manac's that the seasoned driver's got. They ran mostly Transcraft and Utilities with a few Trail/Load King double drops thrown in the mix. I like the look of the Manac's and the good thing with Manac is they are a Canadian company but they got a plant in Missouri, none of that Mexican garbage.

  3. started my truck after 5 min of idle it was about 40 degrees f i hit the cruse to idle it up by the time it got to 800 rpm check engine lite came on imeditly turned off cruse and checked code 8 4 called dealer, was told injector pump no. 4 cyl. also said it could be a fluke, i shut down restarted and it was still there. after about 2 min. it went off havent seen it since. do you think run it or go ahead and put ip. in. im getting ready to head out west for a week or two and im not real keen on the guy's out west working on a mack.

    so what do ya think!

i never had an ip go out can i limp in like that or is it something that has to be replaced immediatly

  4. about a month ago i turned off the key and the engine kept running i checked my gauges, all went to zero that usually do with key in off position, turned it back on gauges went to where they should, waited 20 seconds or so tried it again, it shut down normally. thought it was just a fluke.last nite i started it,watched gauges oil pressure came up to normal, like normal, after 10 or 15 seconds engine died, imediatly checked gauges, they were as if key was turned off, there was a check engine lite on, dont know why i did this, stupid i guess!! instead of checking the code i turned the key off and restarted the engine, and every thing worked fine.

do you think i should change the ignition switch? or wait and see if it will do this again, and try to get the code.

this truck sat on the dealers lot for 3 years, if that makes a difference? (you can't fix stupid.)

  5. was driving in a thunder storm about 1:00 am and my windshield wipers stoped working. i pulled over mesed with the switch got nothing rain eased up. so i took off, after 5 min. or so needed a wipe so i tried em again and they worked. only had to go another 5 or 10 miles and they worked fine, i thought they had trpped the breaker and it had time to kool off and reset, but i was afraid there was a problem, called the mack store to schedule a repair, didn't want to get caught out in the rain so to speak. when i told the service manager what happend,he told me a close lighting strike would cause that, and there was nothing to worrie about. it was hard to believe, but so far i havn't had any more problems. any boudy else ever heard of this?

  6. my trailmobile has chains in the floor every 2 ft. all ive used is straps so far. there is a local company leting me haul some pallet stuff, till i get paperwork and logs figured out. im gona be thrown out in the real world in a couple weeks. im wondering how easy it would be to bend the tracks for those sliding fasteners, before i buy one of those i will wack the track with a sledge hammer to see what happens,if they wont let me do that i wont buy one

  7. Me too. Wow, nice looking trailer! I like the tie downs that you can where you want them. Mine just has the holes in the floor with a piece of chain attached and they're not always where you want them. They're for use with a side kit anyway, I usually hook my chains around the spools. I read that the stake pockets are the strongest attachment point on a steel trailer but the spools are on an aluminum trailer.
