  1. Rowdey Rebel... All of the links you posted deal with Passenger/ light truck tires. That is alot like comparing apples and oranges. Modern commercial truck tires casings can make 1 million miles with proper care. In our situation, we have a lot of drivers who will never see virgins on the tractor or the trailer due to thier record of wrecked tires and blow outs. On the other hand we also have drivers that get nothing but virgins all the way around. If I was a one man band I would have virgins all around, because I would know the history of care.

  2. I just read a real good article in a magazine called Heavy Duty Trucking, about different factors that take their toll on tires. The main point of the article was that it is not the age of the tire, but it's overall condition, maintence history, inflation history that decide how long it is going to run. I always seem to get into arguements over recaps. They will run as long as anything else, if they are taken care of properly. The key thing to remeber is Proper Inflation.

  3. I remember back in first grade, there was a kid in class whose dad drove for a freight outfit. His dad conned a case of Alf folders out of the company that printed them. Everyone in class got one. Pretty cool way back then. Brad

  4. There is guy in Florida that advertises on Truck Paper, that still gets them. I talked to him about it the other day, and he said that it is getting harder and harder to them. He can only really get Heavy front end Granites, set up for V-Mac III. He told me that Kenworth will work with you more. I then talked to my Mack guy(also handles KW's), and he is looking into it for me.

  5. We are based out of Northern Illinois area. We have been running B11 in our trucks for 2 years. We have all Macks, ranging in years from 1976 to 2006. We have not had any problems at all with it. In the winter we do back it down to 2% and run a winter blend. Thanks, Brad

  6. Granite Fan.... Are you not going to vote for any Republicans, because you are not voting at all??? Most people consider myself to be a republican, but I don't. I told a survey lady on the phone the other night that I am a Conservitive first, Republican second. She told me that, that was not an option for the survey. I do not understand what is wrong with upholding strong ethics, strong morals, fiscal responsibility, individual liberties, and the Constitution that gives our government it's foundation. thanks, Brad

  7. This weekend October, 4 and 5, there will be the Tractors for Charity show in Mchenry, il. the show is held at the Peterson Farm ,on McCullom Lake rd. We will be taking 3 trucks and 3 tractors. I know the gentleman that puts the show together and he would think it's great if you brought what ever you have that has an engine on it. The more the merrier. Hope to see some of you guys there. Thanks, Brad tractors for charity

  8. My Dad had Double Eagle "recondition" a 36" for his 87' R model, and had them install it. The seal you are speaking of only lasted a few years, and they were of no help in coming up with a replacement one. We thought that bellows type would be best , but we could not find one the right size. The quality of their "recondition" was piss poor. They forgot about all the sleepers they put on R models back in the day. It seems to me they only want to deal with show trucks. Thanks, Brad
