  1. I have been thinking about this topic for a long while, and thought about starting it up on here. I think that the granite should have been the new R model. Why do these trucks need names??? What is wrong with R or RS or RW. We know what they are, and it sounds a whole lot cooler than "pinacle". When they came out with the Granite it should have been called the RX, because it is the new R model. We hae several granites at work and they are GREAT trucks. We haven't any of the problems that we had with the Visions. Why are they putting those plastic fender flares on the new ones? Because that fender flare is a lot cheaper than a hood when a driver whacks it. I drove a MP7 and I was very pleased with it. It's throttle was very responsive and it the torqe felt like an old 2 valve. Is the engine like a Volvo? Yes, and thats not a bad thing. If we did not use technology to improve these trucks we would still be running GAS jobs. Thanks, Brad

  2. I drive a 94' RD every day and wouldn't trade it for Nuthin. It has all the new school stuff: air ride susp., eletronic motor (they are good), air condition, quietier. But it is old school in looks and feel. I wanted to order a New RD in 2001. I specd it out and it would have been a shake over $90000.00 when we were buying Granites for the drivers in the low to mid 80's. I couldn't bring my self to spend more on a RD. Don't get me wrong....the Granites are great trucks, just not my style. That's when I decided to find a used RD and make it my dream truck. It has been a long process but worth it. Now this winter when I get the motor rebuilt and make it a 400 the dream will be complete. Yeah I could have bought it new, but what fun would that have been. I jump in the new Granites and Visions once in a while and I can't wait to get back into the RD

  3. Some of you guys have a real issue with Volvo and I dont get it. They make a good product. They are also known for a damn good engine. I have no problem with Volvo and Mack sharing engine technolgy. It is smart to distribute the costs of developing a new engine between to comapanies. What would you guys rather have ......no Mack truck.... or Mack truck owned by Volvo. I will go with the second option any day. I think the biggest problem is that alot of you guys are afraid of change. If things didnt change we would still be whippen horses in the morning. I cant wait to get a new set back axle Granite with a MP8 under the hood ordered. Too bad the rest of ya aren't Real die hard mack guys. I will be with thru thick and thin. Brad
