Nice looking truck

So since the truck has a 5 speed, is it the low reving engine?
1750 rpm will only run about 60 mph. It has the 3 leaf rear springs , aluminum rearends, which I don't think I've ever seen. Everything seems lightweight on it and I don't know what ratio the rears are but I wouldn't they would be that low.

I had a 350 and 9 speed in my 89 and it ran great. I figured the 300 wouldn't be bad but I don't know about the 250. I used to run a 69 r model with a 237 so I guess I'll see how it does.

Thanks everyone. Thats what i thought just wanted to make sure. My 89 had the Dynatard and someone must have added the clutch switch. I had a jake put on it when i had the motor rebuilt but i never checked how it was wired.

Nice looking, original R Model, getting harder to find everyday. Whats the plan? Work with it as is, restore, keep it in storage?
Being a tandem tractor, and having to pull heavier loads, I would prefer a 9 speed over the 5.
i know what you mean about the 5 speed. Whats even worse i was told it was a 300 and stupid me i didn't check tag on motor until today and its only a 250. i know where there was a MH with a 350 and 10 speed so if its still there it will make a good parts truck. The cab and frame were rough on the MH.I plan on a quick paint job and putting it to work. Some would say I'm nuts been working for a company driving a 2013 Pete, real nice truck but its just not the same.

If it's a Jake I think there a diagrams on there website.
Its a dynatard but i would think it would be the same. I had my 89 changed to a jake and they used the same switches but i didn't pay attention to how they were wired. Im thinking to wire it in between the pump and the dash switch?

Looks like a Freighliner motor mount assembly.
I thought that also but the bolts are a lot closer together on this.

Its in pretty bad shape but I'll try and get a picture of it tomorrow

We ordered some from auto parts store. Wasn't sure if they were going to be the right ones or not but we got lucky. I didn't think we would find the rear ones but they were right. No luck on the core support mount though. Thanks for all the help.

I have a lawnmower doing the same thing

There's an old gmc dealer that's usually good at finding what we need but havent heard back from them.

Thanks for the link. They will probably work for the front but the back ones are different. I'll see if I can get a picture. I also need core support mount.

Hmm, I thought for sure this looked like a Canadian spread kind of truck.
Looks Canadian to me also.

The Dynatard on my R model would stick on and it cost me a motor. Bent pushrod one time and second time pretty much took out everything. That's the bad part when the motors cost more than you get out of the truck.

Very nice. Always thought those were sharp looking trucks.

I had a 2000 Ch with a 400 and it was pretty sick. Very dependable but not much on a hill. My 89 R with a 350 would run circles around it.
