  1. I was climing one of the steep parts west bound, looked up the road and saw this truck going too fast, this was the results. Saw him upright , then up on the passanger side wheels then he went over. He slid a long ways. He stopped just below me. I was going to set up the video camera for the pull but didn't bother, wish I did. On the way down the back side I was geared down and doing 35, letting it rev to 1800 and then stab the brakes down to 1450 and let it go again. good old power leash engine brake, why can't they put a jake on Macks?. This left time for the brakes to cool. A Freightliner behind me had to pass, when he did the smoke was rolling off all his brakes steady. He had his foot on the brakes all the time I could see him. Guess he made it, didn.t see him in the woods. There were probably 3 semi's broke down and five cars just going over and down the big one in Denver. Made it to Aurora Utah, now sitting in Flagstaff, might head for Huston or Fortworth. No rgn loads out west. http://5280fire.com/?p=27400

Lucerne, I got educated on mountains when I was bout 20, in an R model with load of logs and no engine brake. I made it safely down, dint tear nothing up but my nerves, and is a moment of my life I will never forget. I really think my life was flashing fore my eyes when all that happened. It was actually more of a very long steep hill, bout a mile, and is famous for all the cement trucks it has claimed, turning over at turn at bottom. Road actually dead ends at bottom, you have to make a turn either right or left, or go through front gate of steel mill, prolly at a high rate of speed without security pass. After that, I went 4 miles further every day to avoid hill. I did just last year haul dozer down it in Killer B, dint seem to scare me as bad that time though, course it had been almost 40 years since last gamble,,,,randyp
  2. ....dropped off "the radar" (get it?) making us think he is on a top secret mission, when IN FACT, he is slowly making his way across 4 states and will suprise us all this weekend!

    Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm........

Nahhh,,,he would be well out of fuel before 4 states. He may walk across 4 states toting fuel jug, just gonna take longer,,,randyp
  3. Let me know if you ever figger how to make a bassett stop barking too Olive,,(anything other than an ounce of lead in his left ear). I got one so big his belly leaves ruts in ground when he walks, leaves mounds of doodoo that mower gets stuck on, ifn I stop feeding him constantly, he starts chewing trees down in yard. Spot has tried to discipline him, He just flops over and thumps his tail (wich must weigh 27 lbs.) and Spot gives up and walks off. I guess Spot figures he wont stand and fight like a fat dog, so whats the point. Spot has actually bitten several chunks outta him, but always spits them out, must taste bad,,,,randyp

  4. I know what you mean, I couldn't have anything until I put a chicken wire fence around the garden- rabbits and squirrels would eat everything as soon as it came up. I've got 2 peach trees, an apple tree, a cherry tree, and a pear tree and have never eaten any fruit off any of them, the squirrels eat them off the tree before they even get ripe, and the rabbits get the ones that fall on the ground.

Dernit Tom, to hell with the fruit and shit,,,just eat the squirrels and rabbits,,,,randyp
  5. I almost forgot to add,,Parents, Dont let your 12 year olds try this at home! This act was performed by a highly trained 12 year old professional years ago, and should just be left at that. I didnt realize my body had that many orifices to exude fluid,,eyes, ears, nose, ass, mouth,,,,yeah, prolly my penis too. Its quite probable i ejected and ejaculated at same time,,,,randyp

  6. I almost went like that when I was bout 12 years old. I aint kidding either. Me and coupla others was prowling pasture one day, was going cross top of tall steep pasture and spotted old tractor tire on top. Some young asshole mentoned getting inside it at top of hill and rolling to bottom. Naturally, I volunteered. (again, hold my beer and watch this shit). We stood it up, I got in cockpit (actually, middle of tire). I realized what bad judgement it was about 30 feet or so going down hill, I think I had started to achieve terminal velocity, realized I had no brake pedal inside tire, some asshole must have left that part on former tractor. As I was not wearing a G-suit at the time, I began to lose conciousness, wasnt even halfway down hill yet. I hit what they told me later was a small stump, and achieved liftoff, however, we had neglected to balance tire properly and instead of rolling when I came down, it was more of a tumble, at wich point I was happily ejected, or either I pulled ejection lever and punched out, kinda fuzzy at this point. Anyway, I was glad to be rid of tire, and finish getting all that vomit outa my mouth,,,randyp

  7. I am leaning more and more that direction the older I get. I don't think I will ever buy another new vehicle. I bought a new Dodge pickup in '04 and the wife a new van in '06 and while nice, I should have let someone else take the first depreciation hit. Funny how fast the new wears off and you once again are every week cleaning out the crayons, kids toys, and junk. I refuse to pay ever again that kind of money or have such a high long term loan for something that's clock is just ticking until it quits.

I have no statistics to back it up, but with the cost of cars today, they have to represent a lot higher percentage of a yearly income than they used to.

I agree Olive. Wish I had summa that money back i spent on cars as a younger dummer man. It is true, as we age, we get wiser,,,,randyp
  8. I have tonnages of pics on my camera Tom, have been performing like you trained me, but still havent got this stoopid arse computer to upload them anymore. I am stymied, bumfuzzled, aghast,,,,have reloaded disc, drivers, prolly got me some award winning pics and cant share them. Some may be as famous as that Iwo Jima pic, I gotta get this figured out. I still never cease to be amazed and collectified by your (the master) kodiackatronomy skills! My goal in life is to reach that level. Keep up the good work!! randyp

  9. I wonder if he made that famous statement that I heard so many times as a young man fore that happened,,,,something like,,,"Hold my beer and watch this shit!" randyp

  10. I would have told him to stick his apology up his ass sideways.

I would have told him to stick his apology up his ass sideways.

Heh heh,,thas tempting, but would be kinda like doodooing in my cheerios. I run too regular in this small town and he would harass me all the time then. Everbody oughta just love everbody, even though it was temptatious,,,,randyp
  11. A regular trooper stopped me in 86 R-model the other day, had me come to front of truck, glanced at my license, and told me he stopped me for not wearing my seat belt. I was wearing one of those yellow safety T-shirts. I told him I was wearing it. He got real official sounding, told me my first mistake was not wearing it, my second mistake was trying to lie to him, and my third was wearing the safety yellow shirt that clearly showed no shoulder strap, in wich he was "trained" to look for. I told him it was an 86 and wasnt equipped with it, just the lap belt, which I was wearing. He looked like he had swallowed a turd, climbed up in truck, looked at my lap belt, looked for shoulder strap of wich never was there, and climbed down apologizing like hell. I just laughed and said no problem. He said it was a new one on him. He was fresh out of trooper college I think. I guess he knows now,,,randyp

  12. Sounds like a lotta fun Randyp, I want to own a Garand someday. I was hooked after I shot my buddies.

@ Lucern Tractor-I agree with you on what a crock of crap it is how DOT is allowed to make your job very tough with their constant nagging. I thinks its wrong that they can pull you over on the highway simply because you are a in a truck. They should have to have some cause to pull you over like a real officer not just to fill a quota and screw your day up. I dont have a lot of scales but there are a ton of DOT always on the prowl.

Heh Heh,,I aint shot any of my buddies yet, guess it could happen though,,,LOL,,,yeah, I bought one from CMP several years ago and its my favorite rifle,,,randyp
