  1. $9500 for a V8 Mack MH (Ultra-Liner in Aus.) At that price I don't know why you blokes have'nt got 10 in the driveway! You would'nt buy the motor for that in Australia.
  2. I had a 2002 CH 470 E-tech Mack in Australia, it had RENAULT cast into the engine block, RENAULT on the isri seat and VOLVO on the tags on the diff housings.Would this have been the change-over period, or was it just a mongrel?
  3. You are right, ThaddeusW it is a beautiful model. I did'nt want to sound like a smart- arse (ass for you U.S blokes!) when I started the post but they are even better to drive. Best truck I've ever driven in 20 years, with a C-15 cat @ 550 18 spd.
  4. I was just wondering why Mack Australia would offer more models than U.S? Is what shown on the U.S website it? No Cat or Cummins options.Check out the new Australian Superliner LT.
  5. As far as I know the only difference between a 435 and 470 Australian E7 is the keyser? (spelling) fan and computer program. It's a different story with the 410 as there are too many differences to be viable.
  6. Thanks for the welcome , Barry. I'm not sure of availability of parts for the V8 as I've never owned one. Although I do know they are EXPENSIVE!!!!!! to repair. I've heard figures of up to $30,000au for a full rebuild.
  7. You are pretty close ThaddeusW, the Australian 610 was 2050 ft. lb.and I also think Volvo will kill off the engine line. Old mates little DDEC IV might have the same figures as an E9, But one thing it and all the other electronic engines don't have is,how would I put it? Character? Nothing beats the sound of a V8 Mack.
  8. Hi, Long time reader, first time joiner. My names Mark and I'm from Sydney, Australia. I drive a 470 CH mack for a living, but love all the old stuff, V8's, coolpowers etc ,as long as it has a bulldog on it, I don't care!
