  1. I had a little more blow by than I liked. There is a few more things that I saw that was concerning. I will get you guys some more pics for your thoughts and opinions. Just figured out how to download pics. 😅
  2. I have the pan down so I'm gonna check a rod and main bearing to see wear. Do you guys think I should replace all lifters or just the 1?
  3. Motor has 700k on it. I think I'm gonna due full rebuild.

  5. The truck has 700k plus. Don't know if that matters.
  6. Not that i can see but o did notice a burnt smell up top which was weird. I took a rubber mallet and popped top of springs; everything seemed to be fine. What's gauling and how can I spot it?
  7. Ok. Here we go. Rocker arm broke where the shaft goes thru it. No bent push rod. It seems to have broke at idle. The truck has over 700k on it. The keepers seem to be in great shape as if heads where redone. I'm wondering if there is another issue that cause rocket arm to break. Driver doesn't rev high ( actually he is very easy on truck) and not heavy on Jake brake. It was the exhaust rocker that broke. Is there anything else I should be looking for. There was a lot of banging noise and I can't see what was hitting what after removing Jake head and rocker shaft. I drained oil only to find 2 or 3 small flat pieces of metal. With 700k on bottom end I don't know if I should be alarmed with that I've seen worst in oil.

  9. No. I didn't take it off. I got it in. I used a axle nut socket. Finished truck last night at 11:15. She out making that money right now.

  12. Understood. I ask cause I don't see any separation anywhere. You guys have a lot of info here and I rather ask than create more of a situation for myself. I'm pretty handy. Done a lot already from rears to motors but when I'm not sure.... I rather ask.
  13. Does that cover need to come off to change the seal. It doesn't look like to comes out from outside of cover.
  14. Does that plate need to come off to change seal. Cause from the outside it doesn't look like it comes out of from outside of cover.
  15. Transource in Raleigh is where I'm getting from. They said 430 pm arrival.

  17. So I lost main bolt and washer for yolk on back side of tranny. Is there any way I can replace bolt from hardware store. I know there is a big washer there also; I'm just hoping there is alternative outside dealership and waiting till tomorrow.
  18. Ok. Will do. Is there anything else that you guys can think of that will debate the 5psi in boost? Can tach and speedo be working but not accurate enough for computer reading?
  19. I have a 2000 mack rd with 460 and maxitorque 18spd. I'm only getting 25psi of boost. Last year truck started doing something weird. If you were going around a corner and hit a bump it would noticeably have more power. After awhile I got consistent 32psi of boost. I figured truck had been sitting so bugs just need to be ran out. Now the only time I see 30psi plus is when truck is in 6thgear hi split. Speedo is working along with tach. Tach is a little bouncy but is working. I'm thinking the torque limit switch could be an issue. Is there away to test it? Do you thing unstable tach has something to do with it? New filters with exception of air. Any direction would be appreciated.
  20. I do. I want to change shifter but I see no aftermarket support for it. All the designer shift knobs are for eatons
  21. A friend of mine did two old school splitter valves on 8spd.
