  1. This truck started its life as a B- 61 T. At some point it has been retrofitted into a twin screw tractor. Me and my brother pretty much strictly collect trucks from the former Latrobe Construction Company so it had to saved.
  2. Restoration Specialties out of Windber Pa might have what you’re looking for.
  3. Another day of Mack Trucks on the house site.
  4. More Mack Action at new home site. Concrete pump truck.
  5. That is an awesome story. Finding the trucks, working on them , and enjoying them is truly only half the hobby. Getting the history and connecting the dots is just as exciting.
  6. I was able to take the bolt down floor panel up enough to disconnect all the air fittings on the petal and remove it from truck. Once out I took my time soaking it with PB and tapping it with a hammer lightly. I was able to get 2 freed up that way and they work fine. Check your brake cans. If they have the emergency brake they will have a hole right in the center for a caging bolt. On some of my B’s over the years they changed just the rear most axle on the tandem to spring cans. The front rear end still have the original air chambers with no emergency brakes.
  7. Caught this dog set up at a new home site drilling a water well. I didn’t get a chance to get any info about it
  8. It’s amazing how much dirt and grease can build up on that stuff over the years. All the old mechanics i knew said grease was cheaper to put in them then a new part. They were right. Just cleaning all of it back off is a chore. Keep up the good work.
  9. I would love to see more pictures. Very nice old truck.
  10. Yes I was there. I recommend anyone that can make the trip check out a show. There is 1 in the spring and 1 in the Summer. Great time and a ton of old equipment and trucks. National Pike Steam Show. Outside Brownsville PA. Come say hi if you do.
  11. Would love to see some pictures of your truck. You’re in the right area on the frame where it should be at.
  12. I have more time invested than money. But that’s the fun!! Yes agree smashing windows out never was something that I would have found entertaining. Non of them are perfect that’s for sure. And I absolutely hate seeing anything old get scrapped.
  13. The Mixer was ready to go to the scrap yard when I saved it. Kids had got into the industrial site where it was at and smashed all the windows. It is covered and waiting its turn.
  14. Give me old iron any day. It was made to last the test of time. I’m in Pennsylvania.
  15. I had a few of the B Models running at an equipment show this summer.
  16. Truck 5 B -63 SX 3148 Truck 6 1951 A-40 2848 Also From former Latrobe Construction
  17. Truck 3 B-63 SX 3155 Truck 4 B-63 SX 2528 Both also from former Latrobe Construction
  18. I thought it might be interesting to share some pictures and history of the Old Bulldogs I have collected. Truck 1 B-63SX 3156 Truck 2 B-61S 54843 Both formally owned by Latrobe Construction.
  19. I Just purchased my first Mack Truck. It was owned by Latrobe Construction Company. A large earth moving and quarrying company in Western Pa. I grew up watching these trucks running up and down Rt 30. Is there any aftermarket service manuals available? I would like to service the truck but I know nothing about what it takes fluid wise and quantities. Thanks
