  1. All my old trucks have Exide I was getting about 3 to 4 years out of a set.About 15 yeras ago I bought battery tenders [ thats the brand name ] I replaced 12 batteries in 1999 and they are sitll like new.I pay about $42,00 for the battery tenders but I am way ahead with the price of new batteries. Also alot of guys told me I would need a tender for each battery,I use one tender for all the batterys and have no problem. My Superliner with the V-8 has 4 batteries and one tender no problem. In the past I have used different trickle chargers no luck untill I went with the battery tender brand.I get the on line at T P Tools they seem to be the best price I have found.O'rilleys sells them but they get $69.00 each I bought some last year from TP if you by 3 or more you get a better price and I paid about $42.00 each for them.

  2. I went to the Art Wilkins auction in Stockton KS,they had a Dodge Bighorn I took my friend he's a big Dodge Bighorn guy.The truck had a 290 cummins, walking beam suspension. The cab was in nice shape,it had some driver side door problems, the hood ok,but it was cracked up front, frame was broken behind the cab and welded.Tires were shot,no clutch, needed brakes. It looked like the truck had been sitting a long time,my friend said to bid no more than $ 8,000.00.The first bid was $25,000.00 next guy bid $31,000.00 and the next guy bids $45,000.00 he got it.

  3. I go to theRichie bros auction in Ft Worth TX,best run auction I have ever been to,the Richie people seem to go out of there way to help you.I like the way they set all the truck up and have them running. The truck I look at seem to bring a fair price, but some guys sem to get caught up in the auction and pay way to much,I don t think Richie Bros play any games with the bidding.I also think that the buyer premium is real fair

  4. We went to Yokohoma 15 years ago run them on the steer, drivers and all trailers great luck all the way around. Two years ago started running the Yokohoma Y-023 on the steer thats all we run on the trailers, flatbeds spread axle getting around 165,000 miles out of them, and we run all short haul.My tire guy told me to try the Y-023 on the steer alittle cheaper being a trailer tire, getting right at 100,000 miles

  5. I spent 2 day at th auction trying to buy this one.It was Hodges truck out of OKC,the truck was in ok shape, alot of rust in the cab, doors. The frame looked real good. The truck ran and sounded good. The bidding started out at $2,000.00 there was one other guy bidding and me.Told my friend that we would go no more than $12,000 I mean you have to pay the Tax in Texas 8.5% plus a 2.5 % to the auction company.Anyway after we had the bid up to $21,000,so much for the $12,000 I think I might have even bid more but my wife don t need to know that it went for $27,000.00 I will post some pics asap

  6. When we went up at the auction I think the M75 was a 1972 and the trailer was a 1975 or the other way around. Also I was talking to the owner 2 days before the auction, and he told me that he bought the trailer from Duncan in KY.I belive I have the same pics you have of when it was Corbetts truck and yes it does look the same, but that is what the owner told me,

  7. I am looking for the Mack logo that went on the valve cover for a E-9.I kinda thought there was a guy or a link on here for someone who had a whole load of them, old castings? The ones that he had were not the gold ones but look like the same ones that Mack put on the valve covers any idea who it was or a link to get to him.

    Thanks AL

  8. I have been my doomsday preparation, food, water, lots of guns, and now we think we need a old milatry truck. We want a 6x6,don t want to spend alot of cash, been looking at some that have the multi fuel in them, whats the deal with them, any good?.They tell me you can burn diesel, gas, old oil? do you need to drain the tank each time?I can get one with the 250 Cummins, but I would have to lay out about $5,000 more than the mulit fuel.

    Thanks AL

  9. I have a question my V 8 has two block heaters, can anybody tell how many amps the two of them together draw? Are they 1500 watts each? they seem to keep tripping my 20 amp breakers at my shop, not sure if they are pulling more than 20 amps or if I have a short in the heaters.

    Thanks AL
