  3. I need to change the ratio from a 4.73 to 4.17, the rears are 44,000lbs rears.Trying to keep the cost down,2dealers tell me I need to buy remain drop ins about $4,800.00.But a few other shops tell me I can just change the ring & pinion and the bull gear and save about $4,000? Anybody run up against this?

  4. Looking at a RD 688,1999 460MACK,fuller 8LL 11:24.5 tall rubber the guy tells me the rear end ratio is a 4.73? I'm thinking it's a 4.78 Mack rear.My Eaton road speed calculator tells me at 1600 rpm the truck will be running 58mph.The guy tells me it runs 70mph 1700rpm.I need a local truck but it need to run at least 68mph in the sweet spot.

  5. Thanks for asking Mike,

Everthing is fine its really going good, but the last few years I have just lost intrest in the trucks.I still drive my superliner everday.I dont want to work on the old trucks, don t go to shows even when there are real close to me.The last few years I started playing around with some old cars and seem to like that,I will keep my 26 AC and a B model or two,see what happens down the road maybe I will get back into it.

  7. One reason I think air is always going to the wiper motor is,the one motor that is not leaking air when the truck sits and losses air it's wiper arm hangs down.Than after I start the truck and it gets up to 70lbs or so the wiper goes to the top of the windshield and stays there.

  8. I'dI have air wipers on military truck,it has two motors and one air valve.I have a air leak at one of the motors,I believe it is leaking from the vent on the motor.I had a new air valve so I replaced the air valve,it still leaks. My question is does the motor always have air going to it to keep pressure on the wiper when it is in the parked position.I hate to spend 400.00 on a new motor it's it not that.
