  1. I will be needing new drive tires on the truck for next year. Old ones are cracking crossways in the tread cap. The tires that are on the truck now are 11.00-22. Im having a heck of a time finding anyone who has 22" tires and no luck finding used ones, in any condition. Is it correct that with dayton hubs that fit a 22" rim, 24.5" rims will also fit? Would I be time and money ahead just dumping the 22's and finding 24.5 dayton rims and tires? I know the 22's and 24.5's are not original to the truck, but I would still like to keep the spoke hubs, and I like the slightly added road speed. Sumitomo still makes a 11r22 tire, but from what Ive found theyre the only one. Im only guessing that I will have an even harder time in the future finding 22's. Thanks Frank
  2. Dont want to hijack the thread but can someone link me to the simple way to disassemble a B inner door? I need to change my d/s latch and fought to get everything apart the 1st time.
  3. Got to the polling station about 90 min ago. Still waiting in line. Snapped this pic when I arrived.
  4. Posting this early so you can prep your truck if you decide to participate. As we all know, November 3rd is the day to do your civic duty and exercise your voting privileges. I will be taking my Mack to the polling station, and I'm hoping others will participate also (weather permitting). Take a selfie near your truck or just a pic of your truck at the polls and post back! I'll be posting a little late as I'm working overtime this week. Let's see how many pics we can get!
  5. Depends on the orientation of the handle. Again like the outer handle it would turn ccw. Either push down, or push forward. I have mine attached so to push down.
  6. Look straight in the large hole and you'll see the square hole the handle goes in. I *think* a 1/4" ratchet extension may fit or find a piece of small square stock that fits. A flat blade screwdriver would work in a pinch if it fits well. Rotate the square part counterclockwise and the door may (should) open. On mine the latch mechanism was blown apart and required removal of the inner door panel. If push comes to shove, removal of the lock bead and the rear window is another option.
  7. Looking to purchase 2 each of the B61, Thermodyne, and Diesel emblems that belong on the hood. I realize that Watts has them but Im unable to shell out the $550 for new ones at this time. If anyone has any that they are willing to part with, message me or call me. 484-225-0561 Thanks Frank
  8. If you take the filter element out, it should have the number embossed either on the steel sides or on the top of the filter element. Mine is a luberfiner 500c and takes a 51554 cartridge.
  9. After I found 3 of the cross reference filter numbers I called it good. You need to find a GOOD parts place. My local napa pretty much refuses to use their books and if they dont want to order you something they will just say it's not available. This is why I mostly deal online. If they dont need to help me I don't need to go there. Find a local big truck shop. They WILL get it for you, if they dont have it. I'm no expert (far from it in fact) but I'm pretty sure you cant just remove the hoses and plug the ports. I ordered 4 of these filters off ebay a month ago. They're still being made.
  10. Try here. https://www.oilfilter-crossreference.com/convert/BALDWIN/C703L
  11. Anybody have a length on the speedometer cable, not the conduit, for a B61 with a duplex? I'm measuring my old broken one and I'm getting 93.5" can anyone confirm that? Thanks Frank
  12. Na, my building is the red one in the front view picture. Built by Pioneer. The Morton is at the neighbors farm down the road.
  13. Yeah, that's the pic that convinced me to keep the cab white. I was going to paint the cab and hood green w black fenders but my 26 Chevy has those colors. My dually pickup is white. But I saw yours, and my wife and I both agreed to go that route.
  14. It's either a 59 or 60. I'm waiting for the Mack Museum to reopen to get a production date. The truck has the 673 with a direct duplex. The fronts are 10-22 and the rears are 11.00-22 off road tires. Thanks everyone for the kind words. Yarnall- I'll call you. My messages may not be hitting you.
  15. I just wanted to thank everyone on this site that helped me along the way. And also show off my new playtoy. I found this truck about 4 months ago. It ran real well and had a real solid cab. It needed all of the front body pieces except the grill shell. I think the PO sent them out to be sandblasted and never got them back. I spent some time doing bodywork which I hate doing and probably could've done a better job but I wanted a driver. Something I dont have to be worried about parking at a show. And something my kids can climb in and not worry about a scratch. I was able to take it for a ride this morning to get fuel and had a blast. Thanks everyone.
  16. Anybody know anything on these grill screens or have one on a truck? There are small holes in my shell that may have been to attach one of these screens. The holes are not punched, looks like maybe a small self tapper. And they're not equidistant.
  17. I agree it looks very much like the trailer valve bracket in the pic but with that wonky keyhole and no other holes to mount the valve its gotta be something else.
  18. That's what I'm going to make it into but I wouldn't know how to attach the valve as theres no other bolt holes. My trailer valve only has the 2 mounting holes.
  19. I should've put something in the picture for scale. The flat with the slots is about 12" long and the small protrusion is about 2.5" wide. I was going to bend the small protrusion in line with the other step and mount the trailer valve to it if it's not a bracket that is highly desirable. Heck, I'm not sure if it's even a Mack part. Thanks!
  20. Picked this up with a few other B Mack parts. The number on it ( 101-60548-1 ) isnt a Mack number and a google search didnt come up with anything. The elongated holes match those in the crossmember but that's not surprising with their shape. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
  21. Thanks for the help everyone! I Appreciate it! Pics coming when it comes out for a washdown.
  22. Thanks for the opinions guys. Im still waiting on the filters. Apparently they got lost in the mail. I guess ill just drop the oil and pull that inspection/sediment pan in the meantime. Can that be put on with gasket maker or is there a gasket that should be purchased?
  23. A friend stopped in today and dropped this new bucket of oil off that he's had since he sold his R600. He doesn't remember why he didnt use it. I'm going to do some research on it and see the specs compared to pennzoil. Any problems with using it that anyone is aware of?
  24. I'm changing the oil in the truck now that I have filters, and need to know a good brand of oil to use. My Case skidloader gets Case diesel oil and my gas trucks, and antique Chevy get Castrol. Anybody use Castrol Diesel 15-40? I think I'll need about 25-26 quarts, sound right? Thanks in advance.
