I think you mean J. Robert Bazley from Pottsville, Pa. He had several Sterlings. I don't think this one is chain drive, and I know he had a single axle that was a Timken worm drive

I was talking about new truck orders. I've been away from sales since 2010, but they were an available unpublished option on certain axles for several years before that.

Been available at Mack (unpublished) for years.

huh, did you say something? It did have a small Riker under the cab. The pump had a few shims in it, don't know how they got there, it smoked like a freight train. A new chrome stack lasted about half a day. At night it put out a nice flame

While we're on the subject of those of us that are less proficient, can somebody tell me please, what does   mean? Is this some secret code word that you have to be 12 years old to know?

A friend of mine just gave me this picture of his dad's W71, a real rare truck in Pennsylvania. The W71 was sold new by Hollinger Mack (now Truck Centers of Pennsylvania), turned out one of the guys there still had the chassis record.

The truck was owned by John Haines of Mt Joy, Pa. He was a local produce hauler, he bought it new the way you see it, and later added a sleeper.

If you look close at the trailer, you can see two kingpins, he could close couple it to run certain states that would not allow that long a combination.

It had the 275 hp supercharged Cummins, 5 X 3 transmissions. Took a real driver to manhandle something like this!

Just happened to remember where I saw that. These were the first, and I believe tri-drive is a current production option.

Anyone recognize this cut off rear bogie from a DM-600 block truck? Photo was taken in 2001.

All right, I'll stick my neck out here. Looks like some kind of a hybrid, Hendrickson springs and hangers with a Mack walking beam. Looks like 60" or better spacing.
