  1. Sure doesn't take much to scotch a van trailer- they get on the tires and you're done. I got stuck in a mud puddle like that once in Butler, Pa. pulling into a dirt lot at a store to get a cold drink. Another truck had to give me a little tug, I couldn't move.

I could pull a flatbed in there and tear up the grass and cut some ruts for 'em without getting hung up, if I could get over that big ass curb!

I was thinkin if she had the posi-lockers on that truck she could walk it backwards right out of the ditch...but I digress, how many over the roader trucks are spec'd with full locks...?

  2. Guy I work with pretty regularly has an '07 (I believe) CH 'rawhide' daycab...super super sharp lookin truck with what he says is an Allison auto. The company he works for bought it used from the Mack dealer here and he loves it...but he went from an ant-eater K-whopper to that...so... I remember going and looking at it and had I had $75,000 laying around I'da bought it.

  3. That's almost like when I was listening to 'Love Line' on the radio a few days ago... 'My uh...friend...has these bumps on his dinges and was wondering if it's a problem or not and if he scrubs really hard with soap and water they'll go away..??'

Hypothetically speaking, of course... I'd hate to see the beating said truck is taking to crack the axle housing...

  4. That is a priceless shot. We have that problem on a road up this way. They miss the get on ramp for I-90, and try to do a U-turn on a county blacktop. I have often wondered about how much money a "big" fleet spends in one day on "mishaps" -Brad

I've often wondered that too. This one is only a drop in the bucket here. There are 2 dead-end frontage roads and one township road here pretty close to the on-ramps...countless have tried a 3-point turn around and have failed...others back up for upwards of a mile. I guess they need G.O.A.L. stickers on the windshields too...

  5. Stopped at Casey's in town the other day for a pack of smokes before work and stumbled upon this. I didn't stick around for the 'Wrecked' tv show style 2 rotator trucks pick 'em outta the ditch scene...but it happens every couple months there. Story goes it was a husband/wife team, husband was asleep in the bunk while she tried to get 80' of truck through 20' of driveway... Wonder if they teach that in truck driver skool...???

  6. Sick, twisted, demented, and obscure bunch of individuals on this board. Guess that's why I fit in so well.

Think that's sick? Look up "Barnyard Frolics" on the internet. It was banned on the ship when I was in the Navy with an automatic "Captain's Mast" hearing if caught with it.

I made the mistake of looking up '2 girls, one cup' when someone told me about it a couple years ago, don't get much better (or worse) than that...

  7. Stoopid tidbit...if you run your a/c on 'max' or re-circulate, it cycles the engine fan on less often because the a/c isn't sucking as much humitidy/heat out of your cabin air, provided you leave the window up also. Just personal experience, never any scientific basis to my comments...

  8. Can't for the life of me understand why someone would go out of their way to get dayton wheels on their truck. I don't think I've ever seen a set of daytons going down the road true-not wobbling like crazy....just imagine how that feels in the cab, especially on the steer axle.

  9. I've been trying to find someone who'll make me a couple Calvin pissin on stickers for the back window of the truck...one pissing on the mexican flag and the other pissing on mohammad. So far though, I've been unsuccessful.

  10. There's a house up the street from me that has a lot of rainbows in the yard and on the cars occupying the driveway...thinking the two ladies go diggin for 'gold' with the double ended dill pickle however...

  11. I saw the forecast for yer area in the paper...103 tomorrow in St Louis. Seems we up here are in the meteorlogical hemerroid I.e. the 'ring of fire' and are due 3-5 inches of rain and low 90s for temps.

It's always a comfy 66-68 in my truck. Can't stand no a/c in a vehicle. As I type this my windows are fogged up due to the 99% humidity working at night.

Rowdy, I'll assume you're pulling a pneumatic tank...back when I did that someone showed me a way to 'back flush' and unplug a hose...can't remember how though because I successfully drank away that part of my memory due to the immense hatred I had for the tanker dooty.

  12. Hey Gambi I been looking for you all week. Been hauling down to CGB in Utica. I did see a Petercar sproting your name. Must be a misguided sibling? Thought I might see ya at that hot mix plant there by I-80. Guess there is always next week. -Brad

I see Stark trucks all the time, but seems it's never the same one twice...??

  13. Have finished vacation, started excavating smallish pond with no-airconditoned yet excavator, am considering sealing cab of excavator up, filling it full of water, and wearing scuba tanks all day in cab to dodge the heat. How long does a tank of air last? I guess i coould run a snorkel out the roof, probably choke on the dust though. It hit 102 here today, am loading dirt, getting off, moving truck 300 ft, dumping, on and on,,,etc,,,later,,randyp

Just crank up the rpm's on the excavator and spin it around a few times fast enough to fling the dirt that 300ft.
