Its only for factory built to designate number of axles. It does get up there with high axle count. For example, a tri drive tri steer MR is a TE126.

Thats true, it could be either steer or lift. Just means non driven.

Lift axle. 64 means 6 wheels, 4 driven and 84 means 8 wheels, 4 driven. Tri drive would be 86

The hood mounts completely differently. They have a torsion spring set up and bolt to brackets on the sides of the rails. Not sure how hard it is to retrofit the brackets though. The bumper also mounts from this hood bracket. Would also need the anthem quarter fenders and find a way to mount the latch bars to cab since the anthem hood uses a single release at the front with bear claw style latches at the fenders.

I put the eaton tru trac in my dads 442 a couple years ago. Basically the same design as the torsen. He has been very happy with it. Always puts power to both wheels, no issues around turns, and you never have to worry about it wearing out.

Last time I looked at buying a new Mack I was thinking about that M-Ride, but then many members here told me to stay away.
I know it "looks" very similar to the Freightliner Tuff-Trac and we have had a few trucks with that and never had any issues with it.
Yes its a heavier duty version of the Mride. There is one above this one pictures as well thats used on the planetary drive straight trucks that some of the south american companies order.

Its actually a tri drive, no tag axle. I thouhgt it was an odd setup too. It does have the pogo stick with trailer cable and airlines. They have special clamps and mounts they use for transport. I doubt a customer would spec all that just for transport from the plant

That's why I usually wait until i can out a $100 order together through summit, free shipping! When I say wait, I mean the 5 minutes it take me to find other stuff I "need" to get me to $100.

The hood mirrors are optional. Normal round convex mirrors are what most get.

The grease bank (grease jockey) is an option on all conventionals.

They torque limit them in the lower gears to save the transmission. You dont get the full 900 until like 3rd or 4th gear

Unless the Lordstown facility is that out dated, I find it hard to believe it would take two years to retool that plant. It took ford slightly longer than a month to go from building the focus to sending the first test build of the ranger down the assembly line at Michigan Assembly.

The article says axle housings at hagerstown, so I would assume its mack axles.

To add to to confusion, here is an 84f.

The 64b above has the same axle setup outside of location, but the lift axle was not installed by the factory, so it gets the 64b designation. The 84f had its lift axle installed at lvo, so it gets that designation. The F and B is for setforward or setback front axle.
