  1. Does anyone here change cooking oil into fuel? I have a steady supply of cooking oil that I dump right into my waste oil tank and heat my garage with but would like to start making fuel oil, even if I run it in my machines, it would help easy the pain at the pump. I don't need a big system, I get around 50 gallon a month, could probably get more if I want it.

  2. I have a 1977 Rogers 40 ton lowboy I am looking to sell, also have a 1988 superliner I might consider selling, but both need work. The lowboy only needs a deck and paint, everything else is in good condition. Cross beams and side rails were replaced and are in good condition. $10,000 as is. The superliner needs to be completed. have almost everything needed. E-6 400 with a 9 spd. double frame in very nice condition on neway air ride. Runs and drives but not road ready.

You can call me if interested.

  3. The split was 186 Super-Liner II (RW 613) and 64 Ultra-Liner (MH 613). They were used as a special promotion to introduce the Super-Liner II, Family 10 E9 V8, and T2090 transmission. The entire production was sold out before the production run began. They were all model year 1985- ordered in late 1984 and early 1985 for delivery in 1985. (there were 26 made with the 1070B transmission for deleviery in Canada)

MackTucks4 - send me the last 4 of the VIN (PM) and your email and I can check the database for to see if it was built as a Magnum.

The white Magnum belongs to Chris Lee in Maryland. It was built as a Magnum. Chris chose to interpret his truck in his own way when he restored it.

I have an article written for Double Clutch magazine on the Magnum's schduled for publication late this summer.

  4. Just stock on the seats. I asked my guy about pressing them in over spec., and he didn't know anything about it. His concern was the heads were know for cracking and he though that it would put more stress on the heads. But I'm sure it works, Dale does it so I'm sure it's been tested. Dale is the one that built my turbo. Have not had any problems with heads bolts but I don't run a lot of miles.

  5. Just put mine back together today. Was not getting the boost that I should have (only 38 where as the turbo I put on should get 50) So I pressurized the intake from the turbo (including the turbo) to the heads. Backed off on the rocker shafts so all the valves were closed (time to reset the valves anyway) and found number one cylinder was leaking air somewhere. So decided to pull the head to find out what was going on and found one of the intake seats was loose causing the valve to move around (bad) but good that I caught it. Just happened to have a spare head at the machine shop getting redone and it was ready the next day. Funny thing is the head that went bad was the only head on the truck that was the old style valves (bigger stems) Now all the heads are the same size valve stems.

    Dodged a bullet.

  6. Loved the Red Green show!

Just checked The Red Green web site, He is doing a one man tour across Canada this fall and across the USA in the spring of 2014. I'm going to try to see him, He is the duct tape KING. www.redgreen.com

  7. A friend of mine had his 2006 Granite in my shop to do a turbo and injector upgrade, and I noticed with the hood open there is 4 dimples about 8 inches apart on both sides of the cowl where an air cleaner might mount. In the same area as the R-models have them. I have never seen a Granite with outside air cleaners or are these made for something else?

  8. If you have the side plate with the inversion valves on, that would tell you if it had a air shift lo-lo or a manual shift. Because it is missing, I would bet that it is a two stick 12 speed because you don't have to remove the air shift to pull the trans out of the truck. Not sure if you can just add an air shift without changing the fork, but than you will need to add an inversion valve. Hang on to that top cover because they are NOT available, I had to have mine machined and put a bushing in it.

  9. Lots of good info here...does anyone have a diagram of the deep reduction part of the system? When I flip my dash switch I just get air out of the bottom of this valve and it does not shift...Only one airline to the front cylinder, but no "loose" airlines flopping around, assume it takes two, or is it "spring return"?

    Thanks

The main stick must be in first gear for the deep reduction to shift, and once it is in deep, you should not be able to shift the main stick out of first. It will move up, but should not move to the right as if you were going for second,

  10. was never a Superdog fan but they are growin on me and now i think i want one haha. i think outside air cleaners were just an option.never figured out why someone would want the air cleaner under the hood suckin in all that hot air except for the fact it might not be as dirty. i have a question tho. were steel or square fuel tanks ever an option on the Superdogs? never seen any with them but never know. most all seem to have round tanks.

Outside air cleaners were an option. Mine has an E-9 with air cleaner under the hood, fits with no problem. I wish mine had outside cleaners. Under hood cleaners are ducted to the grill opening for fresh air.

How about that, I have a brother that lives in West Palm, moved there from Pa in 1980 and is still there. Works for the Florida Lottery Comm. I keep asking for some winning lottery tickets, but still waiting, and waiting, and waiting, etc.
