The Soviet Union couldn't sort out Afghanistan.....we thought we could?  The French couldn't sort out Vietnam.....we thought we could?  And we were marvelous with the Iraq show.....what a costly mess.  What have we gained by trying to be the world's policeman?  Over the last 20 years or so, our reputation around the world has crashed (recall how good our reputation was post-WW2).

    Well said!

Apparently  Trump has not caught up with Hackett's proclamation.  "Cars are dead"....Unless of course they are built by Kia,  Hyundai,  Honda,  Toyota, Subaru,  BMW, Volvo,  etc .  Its only a matter of time before the management of these companies wake up to the fact they are losing their ass!

I dunno.  My 2010 Toyota Highlander with 135,000 miles on the clock isn't dead yet...

Just drove it from Dallas, TX to Akron, OH, to Newark, to Atlantic City, to Winchester, VA, to DFW.  3,440 miles round trip in 10 days.  Didn't use a drop of oil and got 25 mpg at speeds of 75- 82 mph fully loaded with cargo + wife + dog.  Only maintenance since brand new has been oil changes, 1 set of brakes, one trans fluid change, and one alternator.  I'd buy a GM vehicle if I thought it would do this, but I'm no longer a believer in GM (or Ford.)

Am I missing something? Steve Feinberg-managed Cerberus Capital Management is an American private equity firm based in New York.

Now I don't know what Feinberg and Troy Clarke worked out, but one possibility is...........there is a shared desire to take on Oshkosh. However, NAV doesn't have the finances to do it, and a VW buyout is NOT on the horizon. Enter Cerberus, who sees a profit opportunity.

And by having Cerberus fund 70 percent of the extremely cyclical defense business, Troy Clarke will have more funds to invest in commercial truck product development. The in-depth update of all the models, and the new Silverado-based CV, is a brilliant success. But by 2022, NAV will need all-new replacements in order to be competitive.

    Smart money at work...

We’re fully committed to sharing details as soon as we can, but I can’t allow us to get ahead of the process,” he said. “The need to get our stakeholders up to speed is the priority for me and the entire company.”

What a nitwit.  "but I can’t allow us to get ahead of the process."   What?  A secret process?

Need to "get the stakeholders up to speed..."  Uh, yeah, they being so dense and uninformed that is really his priority?

Could maybe do the right thing, like step down...

Yes, Ford was heavily involved in the war effort......on both sides. Ford-Werke AG produced thousands of trucks and half-tracks for Hitler's military.

My grandparents despised Henry Ford because of something to do with WWII.  I never asked them why, but this might explain it at least in part.

Lets see what happens to the staffers who did this. Access to their Wikipedia pages is extremely limited.

Y'all will of course note that Jeff Flake's info wasn't posted.  Libs value his support of the resistance movement.  Kinda like a stupid version of McCain.  I hear he regularly shines Chucky Schumer's shoes just to curry favor.

  7. Sophia is my wife's service dog so is allowed on the plane.  Wife buys a first class ticket for wider seating space and dog curls up at her feet without intruding into someone else's foot space.  Wouldn't be possible in coach.

Interesting to see dog go through TSA checkpoints.  Dog has to stay put and watch while wife goes through.  TSA requires the dog to then go through the metal detector on her own unescorted which she does and joins up with my wife on other side

Good looking dog. One of my favorites German Sheppard .

Thanks.  Yes, Sophia is a real sweetheart.  A real member of our family.  Smart too.  Incredible how much English language she understands.

I may have posted before, one of my favorite photos of her - looking out of airplane window before takeoff, wondering what's next.

  9. And other lobsters will come to the memorial commenting that we need legislation so that "this never happens again."   Another way to look at it, at least the lobsters got to run round for awhile rather than be dumped into boiling water.  If you have any PETA friends, have them over for a beer and to watch some movies like these:
