Yes they did. I think about 5 years ago. Though from what I heard they didn't really buy them. Royer owed them so much money that a deal was made that they just took Royer over. If you look closely there is a small Curran sticker of the trucks.
I don't think too much of them. A few years back I wanted them to pave my driveway. They came out, gave me a quote, it sounded
reasonable so I asked when they could do it. They said they could get to it in a month. I said great. Well a few phone calls and a year
later it never got done. The guy called me on a Saturday morning a year after I called them and asked if I was still interested. I
said yeah, a year ago! Then I hung the phone up. Assholes! I won't ever do business with them.

R&B Paving is two guys from Royer Asphalt that went on their own couple of years ago. One of then is Bobby Sipes.
The R model with the floaters sure looks like an old Parking Lot Services truck.
Did Curran buy Royer buy still keep them as Royer? I had heard that but didn't know if their was any truth to it.

Petermack I would live to have a new trailer like that but I heard you have to order them and have them made and wait 8 weeks or so to get them I was thinking of water and one in the winter time but is there a catalog I can look through to see whether I want East Meck or trailStar and what options I can get? I also don't know if a brand new trailers going to be any later than the slant nose Fruehauf I am pulling if I put aluminum wheels on it however the whole thing is to get an air ride trailer so maybe it's worth it
Usually you do have to order a new trailer. Build time depends on how busy the company is. Could be a month, could be six months.
There is no universal catalog for the trailers. Ken's in Chebanse is a good place to deal with. They used to sell East but they had a bit
of a falling out with them so now they sell MAC and Titan. Leach Truck Parts in Crystal Lake sells Trailstar. I think there is an East
dealer just up the street from House of Trucks, but I don't know anything about them. I know Stuart Tank is also an East dealer. You
would have to talk to each dealer to see different specs on different trailers.

http://m.truckpaper.com/ListingDetail/Index?industryName=truck&listingId=5623987&categoryId=211Wowyour setup Looks awesome. What is your empty weight? 27500?
So you have seen the Underhill black pete a lot and think it would be a good choice? He wants 40k. I think it's worth it because they are getting rare and finding one that well kept is tough.
I also found this gem and wondering if taking a trip out to cali would be my best bet. What you think?
My empty is right at 28,000. I have 46,000 rears and double frame from the fuel tanks back. That Underhill truck is probably a thousand
pounds less than my truck. The truck from Cali looks nice, would just be a matter of getting there to look at it and then getting it back.
It can be done though. I used to see that Underhill truck at Unilock all the time. I didn't do a full on inspection on the truck, but it was
definitely well kept. You won't find a cleaner 98 of any brand in Northern IL, especially one that is actually for sale. If that truck was
a CH or RD that was just as clean and set up the same I would also say buy it! Since the economy took a crap, more O/O's have left
this business around here than got into it, and the ones that are left are keeping their trucks and rebuilding them and just buying new
trailers. Finding a nice clean Mack, KW, or Pete factory day cab that hasn't been completely destroyed or molested around here is
tough. You know just like I do about the garbage people that are in this business around here. They run these trucks into the ground,
throw them in the trash, and then find another one to wreck. I say if you like that Pete, take it for a spin and see how you feel about it.
Everybody can throw their 2 cents in, but ultimately you are the one making the payment and will have to sit in it 10 to 12 hrs a day.
If you think its worth it and it makes you happy I say go for it! If you find a decent Mack that is worth it go for it. Its hard to find decent
day cabs that are set up for gravel around here. I have 543,000 miles on my red Pete. 07 pre emissions C15 Acert CAT, starts and
runs every day. Pays the bills and has been a good truck. Good luck!

Petermack you said you have a 240 wb? Do you only haul material to plants? Or do you go everywhere? New hone construction? Backing up to foundations etc?
I have to do it all. I'm off road all to time. Big jobsites, yard hauls, and new house B.S. One thing I like about my truck
is that I have 24.5's and the narrow diameter fuel tanks. Gives me a lot of ground clearance. I will admit there has been a
couple times I wished the truck was about a foot shorter, but I just have to do one more pull up and be careful. I don't
see any battle scars on your RD, so I'm sure your pretty diligent about watching for hazards. You'll be fine.

You won't be able to tour Wrigley today with the playoff game going on. For about a $1000 a ticket they might let you in.
Without going into the city you could take a cab over to Rosemont, about a 2 min taxi ride. There is a big mall there
and Toby Keith's bar. Something quick and easy to do without having to head into town.

That is a clean Pete. Seen it around for years. I wouldn't be afraid to buy that truck. You won't find another as clean as that one
in northern IL for sale. My Pete has a 240 inch wheelbase and I do the same thing you do. I wouldn't worry about the WB too much,
as long as your paying attention you'll be fine.

I was out on the back roads by Elburn this morning and found a R-model with a bunk on it! I had never seen this truck before.
Not sure who it belongs to, although I know who would know, but I have a feeling this is one of those trucks that only comes
out this time of year and then hides in the barn till next fall.

Carry is still around and still based out of Oak Brook. I think they merged with Superior Carriers as well, or maybe have some
sort of partnership. The trucks they have now just blend in with the crowd. One color, slap a sticker on the door and go.
Here is a google image search of the trucks.

is it my eyes or did they also stretch the hood on the V12 Mack? I can see they have some electric fans mounted to it. I suspect that V12 cat is really stuffed in there and they needed all the room they could get.
Thanks for sharing
I was wondering that myself. I had this picture of the Palumbo RM and was looking at it, and it looks like maybe the hood is the same length
but the radiator area has been extended. I think the breather holes and covers on the hood of the lowboy have to be custom.

I love the bumper on the lowboy. That had to cost a good buck to fab that up.

Peterbilt flatop bunks are getting very expensive, I know that much. Seen them going for 5K and up on ebay for decent ones.
Here's a link to an older topic here on BMT that has a nice yellow B and a few others with a Pete bunk.

Saw these two dumping grindings side by side the other day. Nothing ever goes wrong dumping close together
