Thought these pics would be appropriate here. This is a 1928 Hendrickson that was at their booth at the
Mid-America Truck Show in Louisville this year. Had a very interesting talk with the guy that was in charge
of getting this truck restored. He said this truck was built in Hendrickson's Chicago plant 20 some years
before they moved to Lyons. It was found in a garage in Joliet IL around 30 years ago. One of the Hendrickson
brothers wanted to restore the truck so it was shipped to Arizona to his house but after about 20 years it
just never happened so he shipped it back to Hendrickson. It was finally restored and is on permanent
display with another truck at their office near I55 and Lemont rd in Lemont IL.

The blue one belongs to my friend Chad Udelhoven from Newton. He was in a wreck several years ago and is confined to a wheelchair,he has converted this truck to an automtic with hand controls and has a wheelchair lift on the right side so he can drive it.
This white one belonged to Chad's brother Bill,E9-500 with a 9 speed, they sold it awhile back, went to Ohio I think.
Right you are Superdog. I have before and after pictures of the truck. The one with the fuel tank was taken at Walcott and
the one with the lift was taken at Richland Center a year or two later. I also have one of yours from Walcott but I don't know
if you owned it when I took this picture.

Suppose I could add a couple here. The first two are from an ATHS show in Richland Center WI, and the other two are the
Back in Black Superdog leaving Gerharts last fall. Thank you Back in Black for the show.
You all can figure that out. It didn't arrange the pics as I had posted them.

Just talked to a friend about that truck and he was thinking that company was based in Roselle IL. That truck did
pull a trash wagon for a time but I have not seen it on the road for a few years. May have been parked for the last
five years.

Surely needs some TLC. I have seen that truck in the past. Think it used to pull a trash wagon and they had
a couple R's or DM's with rolloff bodies.

I'm going, I gotta get out my truck and go look at trucks. Something not right about that!

Oops missed something, dont put chemicals on your wheels, those are pitted from salt ,road grit, and acid (aluminum brightener) used to make em shiny(bright silver), the only problem is the acid eats at the surface of the wheel and over time pits it out worse so you have to use more to get em lean and shiny again and it gets worse faster, its a vicious cycle. With wheels like that I would start by sanding they are too rough to polish without a smooth surface first, sorry man its a bunch of work, or you can hire somebody I had a guy do some of mine for $25/wheel from the sanding all the way thru cause I was lazy.
Right on Superdog. I have seen so many guys use acid time and time again and completely ruin there aluminum. I saw a guy by
me turn a shiny new East Genesis dump trailer white in two weeks. Just awful. Or like Mack Man said a quick rinse with acid to
clean the heavy stuff and then polish, but to many acid baths = ruined rims, tanks. A lot of guys are always looking for a quick
fix when it comes to polishing but the truth is, it is just hard work and elbow grease.

I recognize the red one next to the IH 400,Bruce Thompson owned it for awhile.Musta been took when his son Jerry still owned the IH.The IH was an Iowa truck,ex-Ruan,318 with a 2 stick 4x4,Jerry bought it from my late friend Mike Pagel,I've got a pic somewhere of when I delivered it to Jerry.
I took that pic out at Maggio towing 2 or 3 years ago and both trucks are owned by Jim Schrantz now. He is from
Seneca IL and is in the Northwest IL ATHS Chapter.

I saw one of them about a week ago that was almost pure white with salt. It made me cringe to think what the salt was doing to the metal on one of those nice trucks.
I've seen them in the salt also, and I cringed thinking what it was doing to my truck. I always wondered if the Shwind drivers actually like
driving those trucks because these seem to be well taken care of, or if they are begging for an upgrade. Maybe to a brand new 86 cruiseliner.
Polishing a dump trailer?

You need an actual buffer with a stick of jewelers rouge. Friend of mine did his hopper bottom last year. Think it took him
about two weeks to get it done at a couple hours a day. I think you could make it look pretty nice if you got the time.
Gonna be tough with all the ribs on the trailer. I wish you the best of luck.
