  1. After taking some time to get used to the new layout, it has grown on me. Looks sharp, seems faster. I like my antique trucks, but cant stand antiquated websites. Thanks for the upgrade

  2. The dealer was helpful to a point, but they can't find the old bulletin that had a chart to help determine the required ratio. They suggested a similar truck but speced with 11r22.5, and using that vin. I was at the parts counter for awhile, and there was some mumbleing about the age of the truck....

  3. I have a RW613 with 4.42 rears and a t2090 trans. Truck came with 24.5 rubber and we switched over to 11r22.5 . The speedo drive is worn out and not working, and I want to get the right ratio so the speedometer runs true. The "adapter" as the parts breakdown calls it, has a ratio of 1.132 from the factory. Can anybody help me with the correct ratio? Or if anybody has a serial number for a truck with the same specs but factory 11r22.5 tires that would work too. Thanks for any help

  4. I know, I dont send them out to haul concrete for other contractors. Just broken ashpalt and dirt with debris in it. I am pretty rough on my own stuff, and have put some big concrete in there. So far so good. I really like the top rub rail being on an angle, i can use it to cut wire and debris with the bucket without any problems. The trailers are hardox 450, and it seems pretty tough.

EPak is new to the chicago market, and they seem to have a good product.

  5. I went with the E-Pak steel trailer when i was looking. It is pretty light for steel, I put it on material hauling 80% of the time. Then it has a 2 way gate that is really easy to switch. I do a fair amount of demo, so the trucks can still haul demo debris and concrete from me. With the E-Pak and the Pinnacle, we can squeeze 22.5 tons on if you run 73,000. The selling point with E-Pak was the quick delivery time, dealt with the manufacturer, and had some say in the design. My one complaint is that the dump angle is not steep enough, but they are working with me to fix that. I think a taller ram will make it fine.

  6. There is one running around by me. I am not sure if it is a WINK, but I can ask if I see the driver. A company that has some really light material haulers runs it, and they run the longer dumps and then the 3rd axle on the tractor. It has the blue plastic tub. In IL, I think they can gross 80k on that set up

  7. Spent the day in Lake County yesterday. Saw a ton of R-models and other trucks but it seems they were always somewhere

that I couldn't get a good shot of them. I did get one from behind of the R-Jones R-model pulling the lowboy. Saw a newer silver/grey

Mack that looked like it belonged to RSD501, didn't get a picture though. Also saw a Ford 9000 cabover pulling a dump trailer down

83 by the landfill. Haven't seen one those running around in awhile.

What were you doing in this neck of the woods? Had one running out of Vulcan Grayslake yesterday

  8. Saw this on IronPlanet, it sold for $8750. Looks like it is in good shape, but the description says it didn't start. The reason why it wouldn't start was not given.

    Item #586001

The computer wont let me add the link for some reason....

Looks pretty loaded too, air window, air ride passenger seat, full gauges and I really how the spot lights look. Anybody on here buy it or know anything about it? Thanks

  9. In conversations with guys that run over the road, it seems like they are constantly crapped on. Weeks away from home, left without loads, waiting to unload, and then the pay blows to boot. Seems as though the issues are pretty obvious, that if you want guys to be in a truck, at work, make it worth their while. Big corporations are driven by profits and earnings, but they seem to forget that the same thing motivates the guy driving the truck too. Money talks.

  10. Look for simple things first ... Replace fuel filter, check that the throttle lever has not slipped around the pump shaft, make sure it has full travel...if that's good check for good boost pressure. inspect turbo for broken fins. After that you will need to start looking at the pump and compression levels...

My '89 had no power, ran up to about 1750 RPM slowly, and no boost. As he said, check the throttle linkage. The splines on the shaft going into the injector pump are gone on mine. Put the linkage back in the correct spot, ran a 1/4" bolt through it, and whammo... Mechanic wanted to send the pump out and that would have been $4,000
