We were planning on taking a trip to the Midwest and going by the Iowa 80 Museum and stopping to see Mike on the same trip. Too bad we put it off too long.

Thanks everyone.

OK thanks I think that was the guy that asked me to borrow my yard bought a R model water truck close to here can’t remember. I’m getting old when memory is fading. Thanks for that. From what I remember he was always on here. I think it was a Cattle driver, but it was dipping into everything for what I remember.Bob
That was Rob who bought the water truck, a tan colored R model. He kind of comes and goes here, and is well liked. He disappeared once for a few years and then came back like he'd never left. I wish he'd reappear, he was another who's just a wealth of knowledge and will help anybody with anything.

As a matter of fact it is, thank you very much.
Me and Zina went over to my favorite restaurant in Altavista, El Cazador.
I had a big Miller Lite,
then when Zina told them it was my birthday they brought out the big sombrero and a glass of tequila and sang happy birthday. I drank the tequila too, even though it's not my favorite drink.

Kind of hard for me to take somebody seriously when he's covered in tattoos and nose rings and face piercings, but that guy makes some good points. I was with him right up until the end. I didn't drink light beer when I was younger, but that's all I have drank for years now, for the most part. There's a lot of calories in that delicious beer- a lot. And it's a lot harder to work them off now that I'm much older than I used to be.
I can go out and putter around in the yard or garden and drink light beer all day. If I was drinking regular Yuengling or something I'd be done after a few beers and have to take a nap.
And I like the taste too, so there's that.

Oooooooooooo by the way, Tom, who is the good looking peach????? And why are you moving?
I have no idea Bob, but that was the best looking Miller Lite picture I found. I found it on the Miller Facebook page, and I think she does an excellent job of promoting their product.
We're moving to Appomattox just to be closer to family. I lived in Appomattox before for more than 25 years. And it's also kind of "our" place. I was with my wife who passed away in 2005 in Appomattox before, was here with Jo for the most part, so the place in Spout Spring will be mine and Zina's place.
I do like it here, it's quiet and peaceful, but the new place should be too. My son and grandson live in Pamplin so we'll be a lot closer to them, and closer to my family in Cumberland county. Hell, we'll be closer to everything!

So I've been seeing this all day-
Right away they probably lost millions of dollars by putting this on the cans. The big companies should stay away from crap like this or being too political because they will immediately alienate 50% of their customers.
Do what you want on your own time, that's between you and God, but I don't want to see or hear about it. Makes me glad that this is my beer of choice- I switched from Bud Light several years ago, Miller Lite is much better. Tastes great and it's less filling

That's me- I ain't got much, but it's all paid for. We're moving from this place in Gladys- that's my Christmas decorations in the driveway by the way. I spray painted that root and it stays painted year round 🤣...anyhow,
To this place that we bought in Spout Spring,Va.
After we pretty much gave up on finding a home for sale, we decided to look into getting a piece of land and just putting a single wide mobile or modular home on it. We found an acre in Pamplin, of course we would have to have it cleared and a well and septic system put in. We went to the mobile or modular home getting place to look at what was available, and they're really nice now- super nice. The one we decided on was $95,000 just for the home. And this one we bought, already there, set up, was the exact same model that we had picked, on an acre of land, and only 3 years old, was $130,000. It's a 76x16, 2 feets wider and 10 feets longer than here.
And we've already had two people asking about buying this place.

I love that International Cabover as well!!
That was a lucky shot- Zina saw it first and said "here comes a cabover". I just happened to have my phone in my hand looking for something on Google maps so I was able to get that picture. If I hadn't had it in my hands I would have never gotten it in time.

My god that’s some giant candy store. Thanks, Tom…. Bob
Yes, he's got loads of old trucks there, lots of B models, and pretty much whatever else you can think of. I don't know what they're going to do with them. P.L. passed away a few years ago and his sons still run the trucking company, and as far as I know all the old trucks are still there.

I think I have a bunch more pictures from the Iowa 80 museum on the Flickr account. Just click on "albums" at the top, should be an Iowa 80 album in there.

I saw that on Facebook yesterday. There and right here were the only places I knew him from. I never met him in person, but he's been here forever it seems like. That was enough to tell me what a genuine good person he was.
