you're good for 55000 I think. So maybe legal for 10 ton if your lucky.Guys, why is CT so freaking backwards when it comes to registering 10 wheelers vs. tri-axles? I've been doing a little research on it, and it looks like you can't register a 10 wheeler commercially and still haul anything in the body except feathers, leaves, and empty water bottles.
In order to carry anything of substance, CT forces you to go with a tri-axle. It just doesn't make sense.

the macks have it tooSaw something interesting on 95 on Monday afternoon. 3 AP Marquardt Petes in a row with new lettering and numbering scheme. Looked like script lettering going up on an angle.
Have not seen the Macks yet.

he wants too much for it. Looks really roughThis truck was posted on here when it was for sale on bidspotter or something like that. I tried to bid in it but it took me too long to register. It sold for $10,000. Mike

I'm looking to build a heavy 10 wheeler out of an rd triaxle. I want to buy one with a 20 front and get 58 rears for it. My only question is are the frames the same between a regular rd and an rdsx? I'm doing this because clean rd sx 10 wheelers are so hard to find.
For the main part yes. They will have different bolt patterns and you will need the cross member/insert that goes inside the frame.

Yeah. They were 300s with 6 speeds on 38 rears. Came with trailer dumps too. Wanted 80k I thinkWasn't there a guy in Chicago a couple years ago that had a couple R's or RD's for sale that had never been worked?

they did a big job at LAX airport in CA. Trying to be construction managers but they have been doing a lot of work in New York over the CT border. Gotta go where the work is I suppose.Hey saw an O&G foreman pick up truck surveying a road on LI about 30 minutes outside NYC today. I have never seen them down here working on any projects.

the main stick will be in a gear 1-5 whatever you choose and the compound stick will be in neutral. One more question...the the Pto is controlled by the 2nd lever

yep. Simple transmission. In low you only use first gear then you shift up to the high side and go through the rest of the gears. So its main stick=gears 1 thru 5.....compound= reverse,hi-lo...

You can delete this by going to topic moderation. And the older RDs most likely had 6 speed transmissions. One was for 1-5 gears and the other had lo direct and reverse. Gave you a multiple speed reverse and pto speed.

We put starlight 4" on our superliner. Old 350 sounds great. Not too bad but enough to be noticed

That is exactly what the guy at the spring shop said. Probably the smartest move... but i' am stubborn and am going to try and fix it first. If i go this route i will roll a set of 46k or 52k camelback under there. I already measured it will go right in.
I was gonna suggest if you going to change might as well just throw camelback in there. Theres a few companies up by us running camelback in KWs and Petes.
To those up in the northeastern states...
