We have the regular old style Mack one on ours since new and it looks and works good

Looks similar to the ones Yaworski has

Superdog. I agree with you with the Granite VS T 800. However here in Ct it seems that Mack just can't make much headway into Paccar domination. Gateway/Tilcon/O&G/Rawson/American/Suzio. I guess we will see what happens when the Paccars get to the end of there life cycle. I am sure they will not have second lives the way the old Macks had.
I think a lot of it in CT also has to do with our dealer here since a lot of people go to Mass to get there parts. Aslo, Gateway never really had a lot of Macks but mostly Peterbuilts they only had a R700, DM800 and they still run a R-model to pull their lowboy

Back in the 70's to early 80's before the restoration bug bit so many of us, so many of the older Macks were a dime a dozen. The need for bigger engines more speed and such things as airride suspension was at the forefront then and the boys in Allentown did't seem to catch on until they had lost a large share of the OTR business. THE FOREIGNERS came over with suitcases of cash and Mack being their preferred truck and me having a yard full of obsolete trucks and no driver being willing to drive more than a few weeks while the other drivers drove more powerful better riding trucks with ameneties ie: ps ac airride suspension cab and seat.Having these trucks just sitting around rusting made no sense so the man with the suitcase full of cash wins every time.It waseither sell them for export or scrap them. What would you have done??? NUFF SAID
Sell the big horsepower trucks and tell the drivers drive the good old ones or leave

Do you know about Russo's R-model? Capello use to haul out of a prestress plant in town we use to see the trucks all the time. I see he went out and bought a bunch of Kenworths instead now, the kid must have not liked macks

Thankyou for your thoughts on the tanks, for now they will remain black and pinstripped, need to save the money. The truck in its current life is in retirement and slowly will be restored to a show appearence, only hauling will be to move the B-61 to out of state shows, the truck is workable though if I ever annoy my present employers at the golf course,,,,Yep I grow grass for a living. Here is a pic you may like, this truck is in my area.
I saw both those trucks for sale at Global and then the superliner at Arron's, what ever happend to it?

I think Midway wound up with some old Foxon stuff as well, but they cleaned up that mess awhile ago. The old man used to have a thing for old fire trucks at that point in time.
Troiano had one of their old DMs which was a tri-drive cab and chassis which some of the parts where used on our Dm

The F-model is on Shipping Wars right now for anyone who did not see it

The body is in great shape!
The truck only hauled stone and then when they went out of business the guy who bought it was going to redo it and put a lift axle on it and go work for Tilcon but he never got that far and then we ended up with it so it probably hasn't been used in the last 20 yrs

Ex-HiHo. My dad saw it hiding at Tilcon's plant in Newtown from the owner of Hi Ho D'Addario with a spun bearing in the motor. A month later it was painted and running got on the highway and realized it went slow! It only went 52mph. Ran it for a year and then changed ring and pinions in the rears and got it up to 65mph. Used it as a site truck later in Wallingford.

The company most likely has more 379's.Yeah but if they had 10 trucks and 10 drivers and one truck burned that means one driver doesn't have a job or if it was a owner/operator they lost probably their only truck

I doubt it. It was gone when we came back through. I think if somebody died in it it wouldn't be sitting in a gas station parking lot.I think what he means is that the person who owned or drove the truck can not work any more because they do not have a truck to make money with anymore
