  1. I have a 96 E7-454 with a S400 turbo and I'm wondering if anyone has ever put a larger turbo on this engine. I've installed 20% over spec injectors and will need to put another turbo on due to the band clamp breaking and partially destroying the fins. I know Rochester Fuel sells a larger turbo kit and so does Northwest Truck, but I noticed you can get the S400 with larger impellers and the new models have what is called extended tip technology. I have found that you can get Borg-Warner turbos now as well. Anyone have any thoughts on the matter or any experience doing so? Thanks

    I use a Borg-Warner S4 from Mack 5145m4 will produce 44 to 47 psi all day long.

  2. I saw some of these videos on the Diesel Gypsy's site, but there was no sound. This is way better with sound-too bad they didn't have a 318 vs. a 903. Probably would have taken too long for 'em to get up the hill anyway

there is a video up there of a GMC with a Detroit, also seen a Mack R model doing the job there is many videos over the years for that event.

But a 318 vs. a 903 pulling 160,000 lbs up a hill would probably crash YOUTUBE for taking too long

  3. I have a AC 460E motor and can only get between 4.7 and 4.9 MPG. It has 3.73 gears with a 13 speed overdrive. I was wondering what kind of MPG others are getting. I was at the dealer yesterday and had an injector pump replaced because it was throwing an 84 code repeatedly. They put an update in the computer but the readout showed 4.7 over it's life. Am I going to have to live with this or is there something else wrong.

    PM, sent.................

  4. I understand fully how you feel. I could give you a churchey answer but will let you fill in that blank. All mankind has been taken advantage of in some or many ways. Its how much of a heart you have that counts. I see it on this web-site all the time. If Barry and this administration had not cared about us and what he believed in, then we would not be enjoying this opportunity to learn and communicate with each other. Frankly I'm one of those people that needed a brother good or bad. My real brother was 6 years older and left home when I was 13. We had a terrible relationship, but I wish that I could let him borrow something from me again or allow him to see my old B61. He would go crazy over it. He was one of the best custom car, truck, Race Car, signs etc. etc. PAINTERS, with people like Charlie Daniels calling for my brother to paint his trucks and buses. Thats just one of the customers.

    Hello mike,

I am sorry for your lack of humor with my MACK BROTHERS comment.

I put this emotion :D for a little fun with you but see I shouldn't.

My thought was,AROUND here we borrow and give what ever is necessary to our Friends or family.

Parts, time, trucks, money and a shoulder if needed{sometimes you never get a return} that was my idea when I posted.

You didn't want to get CHURCHY with me so I will

DO ONTO OTHERS AS YOU WOULD WANT DONE TO YOU

    That how I do life

ALSO I'm sorry about your brother, try to consider I didn't make my comment to bash brothers.

Thank you for your time reading this,You made me feel like shit at first then pist but we are MACK BROTHER's

I will get over it,,you really have to think in general not from your own experience.

    Take care, JIM

  5. The 15-liter is an outcome of the close relationship existing between Caterpillar and International that was introduced as Cat announced its withdrawal from the truck engine business last year. The engine will be part of the all-EGR solution that Navistar International has declared it will use to meet the upcoming emissions mandate for 2010.

Could this be the engine for the new CAT truck :whistling:;)

  6. Would like to say thanks to all you folks that sent me pm's and such about the RL700L emblem on ebay. I did win the auction and now have the four emblems needed for my restoration(s). I do plan to send these in to be replated so they will look as good as new.

As everybody knows they are extremely limited to get ahold of, so this was a real "find".

    Thanks again!

    Rob

  7. Berry,

My BMT e-mail will sent but not recieve.

It hasen't worked since Christmas day.

    Help!!!

    Packer@bigmacktrucks.com

Berry, he can fix anything but if he cant Barry could but if he cant Doodle Bug can

if all else fails Rocket Foot will save the day

Just busting, took me a week to notice the spelling :D:D:D

  8. The thing that gets me is arent those ECM boxes hermetically sealed? The connectors should in fact seal out all moisture, fluids and dirts. If not then blame it on poor or cheap design.

Yes they are from outside dirt

What is happening here is fluid is traveling up the copper wire inside the vinyl covering from a liquid sensor.

Very common on throttle position sensor on the P pump

  9. The dealer with that truck is right in my area, so I have seen it before. The hood doesn't look all that bad in person. It definitely doesn't look quite right, but its not that terrible. If anyone ever wants me to take a look at a truck from that dealer( Global Truck Traders), let me know and I'd be happy to take a look for you.

    sbrem,

I am sorry to be negative on this truck but we are not looking at a pickup truck that someone is trying to keep together

    for work.

This is a commercial vehicle, regulated by the federal government.

The D.O.T would have Field day with this truck.

  10. I've seen a lot worse there but I'll agree that is sloppy looking. Some folks only care about something being "usable" without regard to finished appearance.

The seller has the truck priced high for what it is and prospective purchasers will determine if the repair was worth the effort.

I would have replaced the hood myself.

    Rob

Especially since Mack makes a hood for a cooler

They seem to be proud of it (maybe alittle too much blue paint fumes)
