  1. I think rob hit the nail on the head. Sliding Cabover sales and a premium price for an MH did not help sales. UPS sure did have alot of single axel day cab versions. they looked kinda funny bob tailing around Chicago. I always thought they would fall on their face if the driver hit the brakes to hard LOL.

there was a guy up in WI that had a fleet of sleeper cab cruiseliners and some MHs I dont know if he still has them running around? Most of the ones I saw (besides UPS)were alwasy Owner operators from PA of all states.. B)

Owner operators from PA of all states

Maybe my Dad------ Black MH with red stripes and of course with a V8 ran out to Chicago often

  2. I knew that H&K did some field tests for Mack. During the factory tours last spring most of the plant was blocked off due to the Titans in the building. The Mack Ambassador said they were going to customers to demo, I asked how many H&K were getting and he just smiled. I`d love to get a few hours on the H&K grounds to shoot a few hundred pictures.

    Rich

Next time Art has a show at the farm or just call him good guy he mite be able to help on a tour.

Just for thought H&K was a big help in the CV model testing in 2002.

  3. Thanks for the info! So does that mean that they had only one Cat powered RD?

And yes, I have seen Hazleton's RD600, I only wish I could catch it parked to get a pic of it.

Also, any idea why Pikes Creek Site Contractors have a few Kenworths? I remember they were originally red with grey boxes but were painted in the last year or so ago and now say "Pikes Creek Asphalt" on the door. Are these "private" contractors trucks?

Thanks for the info! So does that mean that they had only one Cat powered RD?

I'm not sure how many old early 80's RD's but when he started buying the RW's he never turned back.

Still many RW II's still in service, then yet not many of his Mack's go out of service they become quarry trucks

Someday I will find some pics.

Also, any idea why Pikes Creek Site Contractors have a few Kenworths?

H&K purchased Hunlocks Sand & Gravel. trucks came with it just took some time to get them painted.

Also if you see (sandy beige) color trucks like Bedrock Quarry or Wilkes-Barre Materials they are partnerships.

Take a look at the web site http://www.hkgroup.com/

  4. FedEx [FDX 63.65 -10.78 (-14.48%) ] shares tumbled 15 percent, making it the biggest decliner on the S&P 500, after the package-delivery service slashed its fiscal 2009 outlook, saying, "significantly weaker macroeconomic conditions are expected to offset the benefits from lower fuel prices and the announced departure of DHL from the U.S. domestic package market."

Shares of rival package-delivery service UPS [uPS 54.51 -4.11

I don't think increasing rates are a good idea

  5. Now thats what I call an RD! 110K rears 500HP E9 and an 18 speed. Would make a good heavy hauler. That or a nice off highway dump truck with a 30K pusher.

WOAH! That CL has 80k Planetary rears with 24" spoke adapters. I wonder if those axles were factory and what make (SISU?).

We all should download the spec's on them 20 years from now people won't believe Mack made real trucks :D

  6. That would explain why their older RDs don't sound like Macks. :P

Are all of their Granites Mack 460s? or just the tractors?

Also, does H&K have any of the newest Granites (CTP/GU)? When the MP Engines were first released, they interview someone from H&K talking about "their" new MP powered Granite, but they never really showed the truck, all you could see was the grille in the background. It appeared to be a Granite axle back.

That would explain why their older RDs don't sound like Macks

The RD700 I speak of was from Locust Ridge Quarry it's in John Haines barn now.

Hazleton Site has sharp RD600 (Mack eng) running you mite have seem but no RD700.

Are all of their Granites Mack 460s? or just the tractors?

    CV low beds 460

CV dumps 427 unless it's an automatic then it will be 370 I think.

does H&K have any of the newest Granites (CTP/GU)? When the MP Engines were first released,

H&K and Mack Truck have a very good long relationship and history. They do a lot of testing for Mack Truck.

Bulldog mag had a big writeup a few years back.

Yes they have the newest and latest in Mack but they stay down south.

Right now H&K has been testing 2010 SCR engine for Mack.

  7. Volvo is headquatered in Greensboro NC. Mack jobs are moving into the Volvo offices. (I can't say people.) We're told by Swedish VP's that it will reduce costs by not having two facilities in North American. We're told in January Volvo is going to start building a facility similar to what Mack has in Allentown for testing.
reduce costs by not having two facilities in North American

    cutting cost but

start building a facility similar to what Mack has in Allentown for testing.

Glade we repaved the test track for nothing

  8. Watch out for those new Dodge Magnum wagons too. They are standard issue PA State Police, white with brown stripe.(same color as my BVD's)

You know how us bucket haulers operate, always on the back roads trying to get away with something.

    Oh yeah seen the Dodge's

They don't understand we are just trying to save our children's fuel supply and carrying more tonnage in fewer trips

  9. PLEASE keep in mind that the blixxton itself is not the core issue. Its the operator. Guns can be dangerous too, if put in the wrong hands. Yes, you may be shortening engine life, twisting the block and so on, BUT with a full dash of gauges, proper knowlege, and paying close attention to your truck, This is a safe alternitive to OEM HP hikes. I've looked at how my turbo specs compaired to a 460, max boost ratings, Injectors(400-454 all the same tip), etc. Baisically, other than a larger turbo, my factory 400 has the same injectors and compression as the 454, but by my choise i can run 10%(440hp+/-) or 30% (520hp +/-) AT MY OWN CHOISE. Just as i would be responsible for pulling the trigger. It is as simple as plug and pay with this chip, but it is wise to even call your dealer and see what max hp the recommend from factory, without any other mods. For example- you can only push so muh fuel thru a small injector. Try pushing excessive fuel through and pump fatigue may be the price you pay. THE BEST PART IS THAT THIS CHIP HAS NO EFFECT ON THE 427 AND BIGGER MOTORS. YOU WILL NOT SEE EXCESSIVE SMOKE AND WILL NOT HATCH A MOTOR 3 DAYS AFTER INSTALLING SOLEY BECAUSE OF THE BLIXXTON. DO YOUR HOMEWORK!!

Props to Jzack- THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A DRIVER AND AN OPERATOR!!!!! I would never put these on a fleet. Too many drivers. But i like to think of myself as an operator.

I too have had better fuel economy with this because i can maintain a set speed and not always accelerating back to 60 mph after a hill. I do recommend this product based on my personal experience.

You had this truck on a DYNO to get numbers to come up with 440 to 520 hp

Did any of you have DYNO done with the Blixxton???????????????????????????????

THE BEST PART IS THAT THIS CHIP HAS NO EFFECT ON THE 427 AND BIGGER MOTORS.

It is not a chip it is a resistor.

It dose work but only 20% for me with my WILD setup.

    RPM box hp increase

    1300-------- 30

    1400 ------ 1

    1500 ----- 7

    1600 ------ 9

    1700 ------ 8

    1800 ------ 13

    1900------- 23

Torque rise was a big improvement

  10. Ah ha...answers my questions then. I've got a 427 w/the in-line pump.

I'd like to upgrade a couple years to the E7...preferabbly the 460...but it's not easy to find another truck set up identical to what I have now...

Keep your 427 program and put high flow inj's and S4 turbo

427 has a better torque rise

  11. Mine has a one and a two sticker on it. The one position is 30% and the 2 position is 10%. I know that sounds funny, but that is what the sheet said that mine came with and i didnt read that for a day or so after i had it and when i switched it to 1, it came alive more yet... If yours doesent have that one and two decal on it, with the wires hanging down and the switch pointing down, top twards you, i belive that one is the switch pointing away from the wiring harness...Thats how mine is.. Any other questions, i think rochester fuel is very knowlegable on macks. Check out their site. Injectors, Turbos, Blixxton

    http://www.rochesterfuel.com/products/dies...ck-c-2_107.html

Mine is swithed towards the cable for the so called 30%

Blixxton was built to trick the V-Mack that the RPM is lower then what is.

It works between 1400 to 1800 rpm.

I speak here with the Knolage of Alex at http://www.pdqperformance.com/

He say's he built this unit [and I tested it 6 years ago]
